Yasuo could be gutted and people would still ban him for two reasons

Marshbouy··34 votes·1,833 views

1 They still don't know how to play against him. 2 They don't want people playing Yasuo on their team.

Or maybe Yasuo is actually strong right now? OTPs of a champion tell the most of a champion strenghts and since Yasuo OTPs are getting higher in divisions with him by using his 10 seconds on his Q to land free autos while the other guy needs to dodge the tornado by stutterstepping and if they flash Yasuo can use the tornado then to keep sticking to them. Since you need to play maybe 5-6 games to realize this strategy Riot is nerfing him now that he's strong.

Or maybe Yasuo is actually strong right now?

he has 51% win rate toplane, and is played half top and half mid with a 49% win rate mid he's also being nerfed

but yasuo is less strong than a lot of champs that should be banned

Jinzo Torrance2 votes

Yasuo holding people hostage with his Q happens exclusively top lane where he needs more autos to kill a target rather than mid where he needs about 3-5 so the mid Yasuo player is not affetcted that much by this nerf.

Yes, I agree, personally Yasuo is not my top priority ban and he's not that strong to be a high ranking ban in general, but not all people ban him because they're bad, as some ban him because he's strong right now and can cheese their champ like that.

Ahristocats7 votes

If you play like ahri or other champions like that and ban yasuo because he counters you

you're forgiven then

if you play renekton, and ban yasuo because you don't know how to play against him instead of learning the game then i'm sorry but you're an infection to the game

3TWarrior4 votes

if a renekton EVER banned a yasuo, I can only see it for 2 reasons (had 3 but forgot 1...)

  1. they don't want him on their team
  2. they're wood tier that have no idea that renekton is god-tier against yasuo?

a couple of reasons that are lesser though are:

  1. they banned him at the request of a teammate
  2. they banned him because he counters allied team composition
A Bepi1 votes

How is banning a champion you just simply find annoying an infection to the game? Bans are literally meant to block "X" champion from a game. Every champion in game has counter play but there are a few select champions that people just do not like to play against. If you get a ban then ban something you personally do not want to deal with. We all have that "x" champion we hate for no good reason, we just do (mine being heimer for beginners)

If you are banning Yasuo ban him because you simply can't enjoy the game against him, not because he is the second best top laner in Korea. Games are meant to be enjoyed ^^ even if it's at some mains expense lol

3TWarrior2 votes

I would like to point out that should a "main" be on your team, it would be best to ask them to play another champion and attempt a compromise as it is not their fault that the champion they play is in such a "compromised" position by how game development and balance works

Lauchmelder12 votes

Neither of them.

I ban him because his kit is unfun to play against. I mean, I could go midlane Rammus and make his life a living hell, but why?

Ignorance can be a factor in a discussion as well.

I know how to play against him, I still call him obnoxious. There's only one way this can go. You acknowledge my opinion about a champion or shut up about it. If you still feel the need to bring up the idiotic "git gud" argument then I suggest reading up what an "opinion" is.

Just because you think that "git gud" is a valid answer to the whole unfun to play against point doesn't make it a valid answer.

And "git gud" also isn't critizising, it's straight up being an asshole.

On top of that: We will have 10 bans. I will not complain about your choice of ban and you won't complain about mine. If you complain, you're muted. It's that simple.

An Enemy Sutando1 votes

Being "unfun to play against" isn't a valid argument either as no champion in the game is fun to play against.

Lauchmelder1 votes

It is a valid argument to ban that champion, which this whole conversation is about.

An Enemy Sutando1 votes

Not really, you're simply incompetent vs Yasuo, which is not something to blame you for. However, you choose not to learn how to be competent against him, which is easier done than said.

Lauchmelder3 votes

I know how to play against Yasuo for fucks sake.

Just because I hate playing against someone that tilts me and who I ban for that doesn't mean I can't play against him.

Get that into your heads for once.

Yes, it's subjective. If I ban him or not is NOT up to a self centered asshole to decide.

Deal with it.

I have yet to see a valid post of yours. Don't need to reply to myself.

"Git gud" as a joke of an answer to "he's unfun to play against" is as braindead and idiotic as it sounds.

But tell me, who should I ban in your eyes then?

(after doing some research I can actually laugh at the git gud joke. If you are using irony try to somehow make it clear next time)

for the sake of your line of reasoning, I will attempt to explain the OP's tenacity and self-explanatory line of thought.

"Yasuo is unfun to play against" , conditionally, fun allows the player to focus on the game and the objectives, not instead on attempting to make the unfun experience "go away" as yasuo is often a high-priority target simply by his versatility and impact on the flow of the game.

Will you acknowledge that yasuo is: A high damage carry, A split-pusher, a high-mobility and crowd control capable champion, resource-less in lane, capable of nullifying an opposing team's strategy at one key moment, a champion capable of suppressing enemies for almost 2 seconds?

Despite that league is a competition, for all intents and purposes other than making money, league of legends is intended to be a fun, competitive environment. Though yasuo is fun for the player playing him, he is often unfun for the players he is playing against and his own team and carries too much weight for the decision-making processes of league(such as having to change how champions behave and interact in lane just to avoid how the champion functions)

I personally would not ban him, but that is because in my intended lane and the game in general, there are typically better champions to ban, but if I were a midlaner or a champion reliant on skill-shots, I might ban yasuo simply to remove a threat to reliable strategy.

Yasuo is a highly contested source of debate for his design flaws and Riot is well aware of his issues, but to change any part of him breaks gameplay revolving around him and he is thus left alone until a solution can be found that is practical and enjoyable for all players

I have brought this up many times. league is a competition

it is a game about having fun by working with allies, but it is a competition, so, the player makes decisions that they think will help their team win unless they are not playing the game within its actual context and are instead playing with friends. Such decisions include removing champions that are themselves nuisances to gameplay, banning champions that are or can be overpowered, working with the group and educating (if possible) those uninformed of detrimental flaws within their logic or reasoning.

Please stop resorting to personal attacks and perhaps take a step back, look at the reasons players present for their dislike of a champion and acknowledge that no one is perfect and that your own opinion can only be explained, not dictated.

Banning pick intent can be avoided, but to make progress, people have to work with one another, not against one another except for the adversity competition brings to innovation.

I will post google's definition of opinion. definition 3 I find accurate for this situation.

o·pin·ion əˈpinyən/ noun a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge. "I'm writing to voice my opinion on an issue of great importance" synonyms: belief, judgment, thought(s), (way of) thinking, mind, (point of) view, viewpoint, outlook, >attitude, stance, position, perspective, persuasion, standpoint; More

the beliefs or views of a large number or majority of people about a particular thing. "the changing climate of opinion"

an estimation of the quality or worth of someone or something. "I had a higher opinion of myself than I deserved"

As for personal attacks, I will list them, "git gud" , "asshole" , "comfort zone" as well as instances of implied, cynical criticism of the player with wording used.

It is only human, but you have refuted your own opinion as fact simply to further your own agenda while also ignoring all valid points of my post. Please, re-read the post and attempt proper understanding of my views in context.

If you want to win and you ban Yasuo then that's not as good as banning a champion that is stronger than that and is mid lane. So, your loss.

So magically, when allies pick him they just suddenly increase our chances of winning? Yeah it's literally the same thing, if the champion is likely to cause a free win for our team when picked by the enemy, they're just as likely to result in a free loss for us when picked by allies.

GULAG 4 U6 votes

And banning your teammate's pick is griefing, so what is your point?

3TWarrior2 votes

to be fair, it's been only 2 weeks since his changes were made so the numbers are probably not accurate yet (as riot usually waits at least a month unless there is a drastic case)

add to this that lee sin was never really intended to be used in all divisions and instead to work in higher divisions, it seems fine that an over-used champion received nerfs

as a note, pick order could also be a factor in decision making as lee sin had an almost guaranteed pick rate for most of this season

Lauchmelder3 votes

So if I hate Yasuo and his idiotic kit tilts me I shouldn't ban him, literally worsening my chance at winning.

Where's your logic?

Ahristocats7 votes

being tilted by a champion doesn't make you worse at the game, especially if you said you can play against yasuo and know how to play against him , unless you get anger issues and break your computer with a fist slam

honestly just stfu atm because if you get mental problem from playing against yasuo you're just a kid

YokoNomi11 votes

With the simplified point being made with two lines of text, I'm wondering if making a thread for it was really necessary. At this point I'm sure it's common sense enough for a lot of people, but the usual rage against the champion is a bit more pertinent with their own experiences, rather than the accepted generalized problems with his infamous state.
