Except the phrase "suck so bad" isn't reserved for referring to "this champ loses more games" exclusively.

If a champ is badly tuned, resulting in being a binary, 1 dimensional, loss of original identity, inflexible, toxic and whatever piece of crap, we call it out for what it is, "it sucks so bad".

For Garen people were bitching about how his new W was just pure shit and how his Q had no damage.

People were bitching about how morde has no build anymore and how he has to his q 3 times now he's getting more play than ever

People were saying that "Omg skarner's stun is tied to his E?!? wtf riot" and look at him now.

People were bitching about how Darius Q now had a delay and forgot to mention all the other positives of the change and now hes performing better than before.

Idk about others, but as a long time Morde player/lover I can tell you outright his rework is total bull.

Why? Because he is now more binary, more limiting and more frustrating to play against than ever before which the rework was supposedly there to address and fix, and instead it simply made the original issues worse. Morde is now broken in bot lane and sitting in minion level in the others, that's not great, it's bad and it sucks. Let's not even talk about how Morde's new kit makes absolute no sense to the character of Mordekaiser, it's like saying that Garen is now a goofy mage who likes to toss bad jokes a lot which is just wrong.

In the case of Morde, his players have every right to bitch about it because it made the champ objectively worse (other than being blatantly broken in bot which is gonna get gutted in the next patch anyway, making him useless everywhere) and the fact now Morde is no longer Morde.

I am sure others are in similar situation. Dismissing other's opinion without diving into it yourself isn't the way to do things imo.

Please tell me how morde was not binary before....It just literally shifted from one binary build/lane to another. But you're right, Morde is just pile of stats with lack of consistency in his kit.

But let's be honest, old Morde's kit never made sense to his character as well.

For a long time Morde player, I think his kit and lore connects rather well, and he is definitely not just a love letter to metal fans. Here's why:

Let's break down who Morde really is shall we.

He is a wraith who is hinted to have once been either a general or a King of the Shadow Isles, centuries or perhaps millennium ago.

It's also hinted that Mordekaiser's armour is actually his own prison. A chain either he put on himself or from another individual to protect not Mordekaiser but the other he comes across. As what's underneath is way deadlier than what he appears to be.

He has a strong sense of hatred and is affiliated to pains, suffering and ofc, fear. As such his weapon of choice is a gigantic mace and controls metal shards for his own amusement.

It's also suggested that for an unknown reason, Mordekaiser seems to use attacking and cursing others partially as a way to harm himself, as he is unable to do so normally due to his unremovable armour (or the status of being a ghost) but he is capable of reducing his own life force through casting his spells. However whether he does it for masochistic desires or simply wishes for an end of his existence is unknown, it may very well be both at the same time.

He doesn't seem to be sane as a result of his incredibly long term mental torture. He changes his persona very frequently, sometimes as a strong willed king and for the most part, a lost soul who seeks only destruction.

He obtains souls to form an army/followers, possibly a remnant of his psychic from when he was still alive as a king/general. Some are recruited against their wishes, some welcome it. And he does seem to ignore normal civilians and children while choosing only those with power and abilities or other special conditions that he may find intrigued by, which makes him also stalk the slums to "save" those who are incurably sick and add them into his ranks.

And I was saying that Morde is now more binary than he was before (he was already really binary then), and that says how bad his current state is.
