Too much hidden information/inconsistency

Every wondered why when you have around 15% life steal, proc Blood Price on Aatrox, dealing a whole bunch of damage, but the health recovered doesnt seem to match the output? Well thats because Blood Price's bonus physical damage doesnt apply life steal. However Nasus's Siphoning Strike does apply life steal despite having the same function.

J4's passive, Martial Cadence's bonus damage doesnt apply life steal. Naut's passive, Staggering Blow does. The list goes on and on.

The only way a player would reliably know this kind of information is if they go outside the game itself and look it up online. Similar to what the game Destiny did but the major difference is that Destiny's case is story whereas League's case is game mechanics.

Now the only reason I know about this was because I had to go outside the game rather than the game itself telling me that this skill/passive doesnt apply life steal. If there wasnt outside information explaining what game should've explained already, then a bunch of people would have a drastically hard time understanding what does or doesnt work. Imagine new players playing the game and dealing with this. Expecting Kindred's passive to apply life steal because what makes them think it wouldnt?

Could Riot please add in a tooltip directly telling players that this does or doesnt apply life steal?

Now there are a few other hidden information and inconsistencies but the life steal mechanic is my biggest issue personally. Are there any others that you have an issue with?

I agree 100%. Look at a game like Magic. The wording is so important because that dictates how it interacts with everything. Then look at league. They use words like "blind", yet teemos blind is not the same as quinn or Graves. Jax e dodges all incoming basic attacks, but doesn't dodge yasuo q which "is treated as a basic attack"

Magic the Gathering is the perfect example of how to be direct, literal, and yet short on their effects. Especially if you try to compare MtG to Yugioh's literal wall of text.

It's all in the wording, fella

What do you mean?

They even removed from the item shop the possiblity to look up things typing things such as

RFC IE BC BT PINK FLASK (at least in the item editor, didn't checked in game since i have item sets and don't need to type them that much...)

Not counting that this game gets like a dozen more bugs every patch, making it legit RNG fiesta when you click something and you hope it will behave as you're expecting.

And you're asking them to clarify those things? Do you want those champs to get nerfed next patch?

As I have some experience with coding and scripts, there should be absolutely no way a literal text edit should mess up with anything else. There's no way their coding is that loose.

And you're asking them to clarify those things? Do you want those champs to get nerfed next patch?

I would be shocked that they nerf champions just because they clarified an effect.

I mean hell, going back to the MtG comment, have two simple separate auto damage categories.

Enhanced Autos Enhanced basic attacks applies lifesteal like Nasus' Q Siphoning Strike and Naut's passive, ect.

Bonus Autos Bonus basic attack damage doesnt apply lifesteal like J4's and Kindred's passive, Aatrox's Blood Price, ect.

You underestimate riot.

I would be shocked that they nerf champions just because they clarified an effect.

I was being sarcastic and ironic, pretty much like when i asked for buffs to my main (shyvana) since she was underpowered so they nerfed it into being unplayable (and calling it a rework with plenty of idiots falling for it shoes, pants and all). The joke was "If you're gonna ask for a champ to have their bug fixed riot is either gonna nerf it just to irritate you or to make it so unplayable that the fact it's bugged doesn't matter anymore since it just won't get picked"

For the rest, i don't know what to say since i'm not working on it, but you mentioning Aatrox just reminded me that he's the first champion without a passive, and he's a jungler that can't use his passive in the jungle despite being designed for it.

Yup. Riot has way too many autonomous groups running around for there to be any consistency
