Im conflicted on the way lol is going

In one respect that content as far as skins and special events for lore is at an all time high in terms of quality and i would love to encourage and support his kind of work that is being done by the people who are clearly working incredibly hard, but at the same time these last few seasons have been getting steadily worse in terms of quality.

As it seems riot forgoes listening to both the competitive and casual sections of the player-base it is incredibly difficult to empathize with the riot when they introduce changes to the game that honestly don't add much in the way of engaging game play further pushing games into a series of steamrolls rather than a nuanced competitive experience.

Riot's comment earlier this month that people just move on from games wasn't very encouraging to be honest and in fact i think it is the most telling statement in terms of how out of touch with the community or the idea of what makes a game fun in the first place. In truth there is a reason we all played this game for so many years why we came back time after time to see what new champs were added to the game how the art style and story would progress etc.. its because the game felt like it was evolving, turning into this niche experience into a game synonymis with competitiveness however now it seems as if league as far as gameplay is concerned is changing for the sake of changing rather than progressing toward any sort of specific end goal.

Without a clear vision as to what riot wants this game to be the ideas behind what defines the meta game will keep changing, and while i am all for the implementation of new and innovative strategies i also don't like to see players who have dedicated so much time to this game because they feel as if their role has been ostracized for the better part of a year since they are no longer considered viable it's disheartening to see roles be forcibly shifted into different directions simply for the sake of artificially making the game interesting.

Years ago the meta was decided based off of what strategies players could cobble together using a variety of champions with widely different move sets and strengths, now the game is mostly about who can 100-0 each other the fastest. looking back on competitive games and just regular footage of league back before keystones were implemented shows you a nearly completely different game and no i dont specifically blame keystones for the changes to the game but i think they were a symptom of a much greater problem that has gotten worse over time. I don't think id be alone in saying that the game would be a lot more interesting with the damage across the board toned way down, enough so that thanks and bruisers arent performing the roles of carries and assassins carries and mages can differentiate themselves from the rest of the champion pool as dedicated damage dealers while tanks supports and enchanters can focus on utility and tanking. Right now the game is just an arms race, with whatever team who has a champ that can get to the point of blowing up everyone on the enemy team being the one that stomps their way to victory. It really isnt interesting to play or watch for that matter, coming from a guy that used to tune in to pro matches to inspire me to get better at the game watching this new lol is depressing in competitive as games have devolved to the point of using boosting strats in the highest level of play.

I can't pull out my wallet in support of this game anymore and it sucks because i really love these skins and want to show my support for stuff like this but i have to do the only thing a consumer can and vote with my wallet and i think if you are disgruntled currently that you should think about it too. At least until things improve. I wrote this because i know for a fact that the surveys that riot has collected from me in the past are likely to have never be read so i hope this can gain some traction with you guys and see if we cant get a response if you feel the same. I wanted this to be made public and clear, i think imma take a break for a while from this game in the mean time let me know what you guys think though, i wanna hear it.
