We all know galios old kit was a mistake and needed to be redone just like the old 
so why is everyone pretending like there was anymore than "gargoyle" and "aoe taunt" that could be salvaged. YOu guys did this with

DrCyanide6 votesLook at his art work, not just the in game model (which scales champs up or down for play reasons). At the smallest they show him, a person is roughly as tall as his foot claws. The initial teaser shows him significantly larger than that.

Not overly sure why people are throwing such a fit about his personality. We already have a depressed, solemn guardian that the entire community forgot existed, Yorick. I for one welcome WWE Galio.

And they changed those to the point where they need a full traditional skin to please old players... except they aren't doing those anymore. And do we really a cocky/upbeat protector for every goddamn faction? Zaun and Piltover have theirs already and now Demacia joins too. I wouldn't be surprised if Irelia ends up as an Ionian Supergirl instead of pretty original background we have now.

Yeah how bout you gtfo of here. He's like 1k mastery points from being my 2nd most played champion and they're removing like 90% of what made him Galio. I don't care if his old kit was outdated, I don't care if the new version is more viable. Considering this is a video game we play for fun, that is MORE than a good enough reason to complain.

He is no longer a gargoyle (he looks like a human, but with rock skin and wings/tail, especially his head), and he's no longer humble. His playstyle of slow-moving hulk seems to be gone with what appeared to be two forms of dash in his kit from the teaser. Now he's like rock-man superhero to the rescue. At least have some respect for the people who wanted him to be similar to what he used to be.

He's just a golem bodyguard who failed his duty, slept as a statue at his master's bones for ages until he saw Poppy and followed her to Demacia. This new Galio looks quite a lot like a statue, doesn't he?

Galio carried me to silver 2 last season, which is when people stopped picking Malzahar against him... I personally think he's viable enough now, if only for being an incredibly overspecialized antimage.

Why does Riot rework every ability into something that completely nullifies teamwork? Warwick lost his AoE AS buff, Shen lost his Q healing teammates, various supports lost interaction with minions, too. Auras? Getting removed one by one.
Just why? This game is losing so many Support abilities, it's almost like they WANT every champion in the game to be a dull solo laner that can provide offensive support but completely lack any form of defensive support. What's next, "Braum's E was too team-oriented and protected turrets for a half second before he got bursted down to shreds by lethality and magic pen assassins, so we replaced it with an on hit stun that lasts 1 second."?
I know Galio is a mage and he has all rights to have a kit that DOESN'T include Support abilities, but could Riot AT LEAST put these abilities into other characters they add or rework? It's absolute garbage that one champion after another is losing unique abilities only to have them replaced by something another character can provide already.
Taric's ultimate for example. It used to give AP and AD to teammates in an AoE radius around himself, why did they remove the whole ability for yet another generic "You're immortal for a few secs" effect? What makes playing Taric so much more different from playing Kayle at that point?

What I do mind is the character being assassinated to make way for yet another bulky human silhouette with a cocky attitude. Oh goody, we go from a gentle remorseful giant to marble Zac! Those wings and teeny horns a gargoyle does not make. Is there no place in League for monsters anymore? Is Urgot going to look like Handsome Squidward when his update comes? Is Cho'Gath going to look like a purple Machamp? I'm very disappointed in Galio's base skin.
midnight oil242 votesWell actually, there;s a lot of depth in his VO. He just wakes up to fight magic, then goes to sleep for centuries. That means that if he grows to like anyone, they'll have been dead for a long time by the time he next wakes up. One of his quotes, likely directed toward poppy, is "I like you, small blue creature. You are the one who doesn't change." Might be off on that quote, but he's clearly kind of depressed. In fact, his personality is similar to how I've seen many depressed people act in public.

AlienPrimate8 votesWell I mained the old sion and haven't touched him since the rework and now I have 100k mastery on galio. So yes, I am going to say I love Galio because he is currently my favorite champion. His q feels really good to me because it hits fairly hard, has a nice slow, and can be dodged by anyone who is good on a mobile champion meaning it has counter play. His w is my favorite ability in the game. It gives a big slow melee champion the sustain he needs in middle lane. His e I don't much care for but it is useful later in the game with a strong speed buff. His ult is another one of my favorite abilities in the game. Winning a team fight by pressing r at the perfect time while making sure no one can cc me out of it feels good.
I am sure anyone who actually mains galio as their first pick mid feels the same way as me. This is me giving you a valid reason about why the one in 2500 people who actually play galio are upset about his rework.

tunehunter6 votesI like the new kit I think it could fit galio the aoe taunt is even in it still but on a shorter cd cus its not tied to the ult any more, I even like the new design.... if it were on a new champion. A rework I expect things to change I expect a slightly new design (like warwick being a very good example, and Poppy, werewolf Check, Yordle with the hammer that slams you into walls, check.) but I dont expect something that is 100% unrecognizable as that character, its a "rework" taking something old, shaking the dust off of it and making it new keeping the theme intact. This isnt that.... this is deleting a champ and introducing a new one and pretending you didnt just do that by giving it the name of the old champ and calling it a rework.
