... yet we buff the point and click true damage nuke + GW + vision granting ability? How is it any better?

"nuke"

It does over 500 damage now, that's ~1/3 of a squishy's health at that point in the game.

it's still not burst damage.

at max lvl and the over 500 dmg is 505 you just said over 500 to make it sound like more of what it was and considering most squishies have more than 2k effective hp its closer to 1/4.

It needed a buff no one was taking it. If they didnt buff it people whould of just swapped to barrier instead.

I agree with what youre saying but effective health doesnt apply with true damage. A late game adc is gonna have around 1700 HP so it is about 1/3 their HP.

Yeah, at level 18, over the course of five seconds. And most ADCs will at some point have build some kind of lifesteal and/or have a heal bot following behind them around (I am a healbot, so no flame. I love my roll) And yes I know it reduces healing on them for the duration. Ignite almost never kills my ADC with my Nami heal.

Also, where you are you getting that they nerfed exhaust? I didn't remember anything about it in recent history so I looked it up, are you talking about back in 7.5? Or the nerf before that in 4.13? Because, either way you are a bit slow.

Ignite was underloaded to the point where it was generally (with admittedly a few exceptions) better to take another summoner spell.

But over exaggerating your point doesn't make you more right.

When they removed the AS slow on it? You know, when ADCs were starting to become broken?

Riot said that they were taking that out because it was "toxic" but the real reason is because it stopped ADCs from being freelo, which was bad for LCS and skin sales.

Yeah, that was over a year ago bud.

But ok, let's look at your original post. Now, keep in mind, you are trying to play ignite off as being overloaded and opop.

... yet we buff the point and click

Exhaust is point and click

true damage

True, exhaust doesn't do true damage (or any damage for that matter, but it doesn't reduce damage by 40%. You might also say, that is "true reduced damage"

This is far more valuable to place on an ADC late game than some 500 damage.

nuke

This is a generous term, but you are right it does do damage.

At level 18 an ADC can easily be putting out 1000 DPS. Losing 40% of that for 2.5 seconds is at least 400 less damage every second.

At level 18 ignite does 100 dps. hmmmm

GW

The GW is to counter certain champions that heal alot without you needing to buy an item. For a long time, it was the only thing mages could get with GW for picks like Vlad. Only a couple patches ago did they get the new Morrelos with GW. And even then, you have to have the entire item to get it.

vision granting ability?

If you're smart with exhaust, you won't lose vision on them either since they have a 30% slow on themselves.

How is it any better?

If anything (and I am a support that only takes exhaust) exhaust needs to be nerfed.

Are we really complaining about Ignite in a meta where mid is afk farm?

Onotori1 votes

Something something MOAR DAMEGE -Riot

Basically. They want their game to be flashier, more kills to happen, and all that, to make LCS more "interesting."

As someone who just got back after a long break, I remember flash and ignite being the only two viable summoner spells. I hope that doesn't happen again

Dude, ignite is barely picked in mid anymore. Most midlaners go with summoner 3 summoner 6 summoner 12 summoner 7 + summoner 4 (which is a more problematic sums)

Ignite is only picked by strong-engage supports nowadays, and not all the time
