If you hate the game/company... just quit.

Im not saying if you find preseason unfun right now to just quit league (although if you are REALLY unhappy leaving and returning in like 3 to 4 months is probably a good idea)

Im talking to those people who JUST sit on the boards to complain about the same things. "Riot is a shit company" "games been garbage for 3 seasons now" Those people.

If you have hated the game for YEARS and blatantly hate Riot. Why are you on their forums, why are you still playing the game? Just leave. If you so vehemently hate it just quit. No one wants to hear you reminisce about the glory days and how everything has gone downhill and is shit.

If you want to actually communicate and talk about how to fix the issues then sure stay on. But if you think that "Riot never listens and is a garbage company they dont do anything i say" then stop saying it. just go.

This is a little angry post i know but i feel like it needs to be said every year or so to remind people that there is better things to do than write post after post about how angry they are for no reason.

EDIT: Apparently I need an Edit since people are taking this post as me complaining that people think there are problems at all with the game. I 100% agree that making posts and challenging Riot is okay. Disliking whatever you dislike is okay. IDC. But SPECIFICALLY to the people who DONT like the game anymore, HAVENT for a while. And whos ONLY goal on the boards is to be "that guy" sitting there saying "Riot is a shit company, because they dont listen to ME, the game hasnt been fun for a long time anyway" and is adamant on their feelings that RIOT and LEAGUE suck. That they arent contributing anything and they should go do something else instead. Hate Preseason? Sure Hate ADCs? Sure Hate the LCS focusing? Sure Hate the players? Sure Hate how the game has been handled? Sure

Hate the whole game/company, and have hated it for a while? It doesnt matter how much money you put in, how much time youve invested, how much you USED to love the game, how loud you scream at people. Season 3 wont be copy-pasted back. So if thats what you want its better to just leave and find another game.

Being angry about the state of the game doesn't mean someone wants to quit, so get out of here with that.

People are passionately frustrated about League because they DON'T want to quit, and because they care. They hate the current STATE of the game, not the game itself. People don't have to sit on their hands and pretend to love the awful changes (in their opinions) just because you are fine sucking it up and taking whatever is tossed on your plate.

People love this game, not hate it, and they want it to be in a better state. Don't mix up hating the state of the game with hating the game. There is a massive difference. Stop telling people "just quit" because they don't WANT to quit, and they don't WANT to stop playing. How about if you don't want to see people angry, stop coming on the boards and reading what is being said?

Oh I read. Then I downvoted. Then I commented. Then I wanted to place my head on my desk at a fairly high velocity reading this response and really I don't know what else to say to this, but had to toss that out there.

Then again the more I see your name, the more I'm seeing you are either purposefully taking the other side of the argument because you want to be on the other side of the fence, or you are a Riot suck up at this point. All I see you post is borderline trolly stuff in most instances defending Riot not with clear reasoning, but awkward half-baked arguments that literally sound like Riot slipped you a $10 bill.

If you want to have an actual discussion, hit me up. If you want to insult me because I disagreed with you in more than 2 sentences, then feel free to move on.

I will admit i do find myself quite often on the otherside of the fence, not because im a troll or i love arguing. But because typically as a person i dont take things as LIFE OR DEATH as the boards VERY often do.

I dont blindly hate champions i dont like fighting. I dont find every patch breaking and gutting champions. I dont think Riot is an incompetent mess. I defend CertainlyT champs (occasionally) because I see fair amounts of counterplay in their kits. I pride myself on holding conversations with people that seem willing to speak outside of the narrative.

And what I typically find myself doing is trying to provide people on the boards with alternate thoughts or opinions than they usually have (especailly common boards opinions)

There are things that even i agree with like Vayne being strong. Or Ardent was busted.

But because of this mentality I find myself Defending Riot since uttering their name is apparently a sin on here. Defending Yasuo or other champions that are commonly hated if they arent strong (his buff was deserved) Calling people out when people are dishonest or bending stats to fit a narrative.

Because of this I am often Called a Troll Downvoted Disregarded Taken out of context

So typically I dont expect much in comments when posting about gameplay.

As for this post this wasnt a fuck-gameplay, or fuck people who talk shit on Riot post. I am fine with those things. Well as long as theyre constructive. This post is specifically for the people who no longer care about the game, just stick around because they find it amusing to just shit talk and join circlejerks. And they are around. Im talking to THOSE people.

as someone who left league for dota in 2013

this is not that simple, you still want to have what you had back, when i didn't have fun by playing league i still wished league to become fun again and that's why i continued to play and still post things on old GD then after some years the fun came back which is nice

and one time you will understand that

To add to this: If you've been playing for years and just "don't find League fun anymore" take a break. Maybe a long break. I have taken a break for about a year a few times, and often for months. Helps to come back to the game fresh.

Maybe people shouldn't expect one game to be fun forever.

Yeah, agreed. It's like food. If you have eggs fro breakfast every day you'll get bored of it, so having a variety is much better for your sanity. And your health.

Yeah there's a reason why League of Legends isn't on any game awards show for casual or competitive play. Owned by a Chinese company, Riot only cares about profit not the state of this game. There's a reason why the game length was shortened to sub 30 minutes on average, there's a reason why towers are origami constructs that do 50 damage per shot (which the boards are filled with complaints over), etc; Riot wants the game to be explosive for viewers, which would mean more money.

There's a reason why their art department (illustrators, concept artists, world builders) are underpaid relative to the millions that make on new skins they release each other week. There's a reason why people complain about broken champion and items yet Riot just focuses on releasing even more champions without fixing the content they already have in excess. More champions means more skins which means more money.

There's a reason why the behind-the-scene and competitive scene of Riot has so much drama, casters leaving (OGN crew getting shafted, Monte, etc), entire franchised teams getting cut from the League despite outcry (Immortals) because of Riot's incredibly shady and money-driven antics.

People complain because there's legitimate reasons to. Look on other game boards (Like Larian Game's Divinity) and you'll notice considerably less negative feedback. But true to the nature of Riot, most feedback is swept under the rug as tantrum. People have given estimate for this game's lifespan being only 5-6 more years. I give it 3.

If you want to play a corpse of a game that sucks the time out of people without better things to do then be my guest

See, the shit that Riot gets away with, like lying to your playerbase, destroying the game for money, selling out to a shitty Chinese conglomerate, and all that... the rest of the industry knows they can get away with it too because it works with the biggest game in the fucking world.

So, when I call out all the shit Riot does, it's not just because I hate the ever living fuck out of Beck and everyone who runs Riot, it's because their shitty philosophies and greed infect the rest of gaming and kill it off.

And whenever I call them out on it, I don't just have some meaningless little rant. I go and write a fucking essay showing all kinds of examples and reasoning -- all to be ignored, of course.

EULCS is failing because of patches and not because

  1. 2 group system which fucking sucks cause alll games are shitfests until playoffs

  2. EU time zones are heavily sacrificed for NA viewership - meaning EU games are at random times of night or day while NA games are at 3pm-6pm perfect for viewers.

  3. all of EUs star players get taken by NA because they have more money

a) NA has more money because of more homogenous society that is easier to market to (also less language barriers) compared to EU where there are like 8 difff countries+

Riot has LET annd actually pushed EULCS to fail and put franchising in NA only.

But it’s failing because of Riots patches??? fuck out of here who upvotes this shit.

And you support this theory how exactly...? I state facts (btw how the fuck do they exist for Dota and CS??? The two group league system which EU was SWITCHED TO whereas NA maintains a 1 group league system which is better for competitiveness - this problem exists neither in Dota or CS).

While you just pretty much say "cause I think so, even though I'm not from EU so EU timezones wouldn't effect me"

Even region gets the same patches, but let's see:

Playerbases declining? No Viewership in other regions or Worlds/MSI declining? No EU playoff viewership declining? No EU regular season viewership declining? Ahh, yes - and it only further proves my point

And not okay with people just blindly doing it because they havent played in like 10 patches, because they sit and read the boards, since everything is negative assume the game is shit, help perpetuate that the game is shit

I think THOSE people should leave the site/game since they obviously dont care enough for the game anymore. Or at least they once did and because of whatever reason they stick around: Money, memories, etc. And instead of honoring what the game was in their eyes the company running it is shit, the whole game is garbage because it isnt season 3 anymore.

Do you have a really low memory capability or something? When you saw something before you will remember it 90% of the time (pulling that out of thin air but its not inaccurate). Seeing the same name just 3 times before would easily be something you can remember. Also,

I dont WANT to quit i enjoy playing this game this about the only game im even half decent with these days an has a huge player base so it doent feel like a snore fest when i play it

but i feel like my voice goes unheard when things get as frustrating as they are now

As some one who had fallen out of love with league I was away for a few months on year. I came back and boy has it been great. What people forget which you I think understand is the idea of burn out, taking a break can be a good thing. Also thank you for bringing up that if you want to complain then please propose a solution or clearly outline your issue. The sad dribble of "game bad" or "going down" oh and the classic "Ruined the game". What the player base in general needs to remember is that you do have a voice. Just think before you use it and for the love of gaming give the changes a try before you bash it out of the gate.

Game is a shit show. It always has been. But the was geared differently in the beginning. It was a free for all. Then the players decided how to play the game.

Then Riot fucked it all up by constantly catering to its tiny, shitshow, proleague.

Its gross.

Make the game. Lets the plays play the game. Fix broken stuff. Don't tune shit to suit your shitty proleague ratings.

Also, report/block features need to be remedied.

Also, white knights on the boards are stupid cute. And fucking gross.

If you want to nerf tanks you first have to nerf damage throughout the game, MAINLY the ADCs damage.

Tanks don't need their tankiness nerfed, they need their damage nerfed. As much as people whine about ADC's they aren't in any way op they just snowball a lot because botlane gets 5 man camped by one team every game. The fact you can int 0/7 on maoki/ornn and then solokill a 5/0 adc is absurd. To 1v1 a tank with one armor item ADC champs need lifesteal, damage, and armor pen, all of which most don't get until 2/3 or even 4 items.

Now im not arguing about whether or not the top 10 are strong, just that if you want to complain about those 3 that they would be doing just a LITTLE bit better than 5th, 17th and 25th in the support role. Although with these stats Janna is understandable.

And what if I like the game but hate the company and what they are doing with it? Trust me, if there was another version of League that was run by a real company that didn't do a lot of random shit I'd be out of here in seconds.
