How do you honestly counter renekton?

I know to not engage on him when his bar is red, but even still hes able to get his bar back to full in abilities and destroy me anyway. Tips?

Patience, basically. If you can't counter pick him (Garen or trundle are my favorites vs him) then just try to play safe and farm, even if he keeps up with you or is a bit ahead, it's better than letting him get fed. If he roams, punish him by pushing hard and tell your mid or wherever he's going to back off. He's not that great in teamfights if he doesn't get really far ahead, and is really prone to overextending if he's being aggressive and you're being patient. So just wait for him to push, let him dive you or let your jungler gank, and pick up a free kill. Then go back to farming. If you're only a little ahead, you're probably not going to beat him in a straight fight on most champs so don't get cocky if you get a kill or two.

If you're having too much trouble fighting him in lane, just play someone who's gonna outscale him. Just do your best to survive laning, farm what you can, and just focus on not dying 5 times.
