Yes it is warranted. No its not what you wanted to hear. The only fix is to nerf the overpowered champions thus evening it out with the power level of other champions and thus the player base will spread out. or more likely go to adcs as the next most op class in the game who also need nerfs. If you arent willing to take nerfs to mid lanes strength you cant really do anything about mid lanes popularity and thus talking about it is moot and serves no purpose.
