Why is yorick so unpopular

Time ago he was banned in competitive or picked but he really didn't recive any nerf why now he is considered bad at the urgot level? i don't believe it urgot is better!

There are a few reasons, mostly because for as unfun as champions like Teemo and Yasuo are, Yorick can be even worse.

Yorick players more often than not win their lane but their team will end up losing the game with their team because Yorick does not contribute much to team Fights. What this leads to is the enemy top laner isn't having fun because there is nothing they can do except farm under the tower, and the rest of the team not having fun because Yorick gets massacured in team fights. Unless there is a very, very, VERY skilled Yorick player to contribute to team fights AND the rest of the team works well together, you're team will lose the game.
Yorick has some of the best sustain in game with his E healing him for most of the damage he takes, it would be like if Caitlyn had 50% life steal on all her attacks from Lvl 1.
Yorick's skill set is a bit like 's old skill set, it's very outdated. Yorick doesn't just need a nerf, he needs an entire rework/overhaul on his character. His Ultimate while very useful has broken game modes like Ascension and caused him to be banned from there.

In short, Yorick has the most potential to be toxic to the game. If he weren't banned from free rotation he would become the king of Unfun, the sultan of bad games and the team he is on would become as dead as he is (because he's a psychopomp zombie)

I wouldn't necessarily say most, but you definitely hit the nail on the head. I like playing Yorick from time to time (used to play him a LOT more), and it's the same thing every time, really. Crush lane, become a walking Ultimate (one that, in solo queue, people for some reason don't understand ;_; ). It's worse than Thresh's lantern, with people not knowing how to use it.

His power level is pretty low at the moment, and it's intentional from Riot. It's also why he's not in the free rotation.
