Please tell me how Placements "accurately" decide where I should be?

Ok. So I just started my placements. I made sure to wait and have at least 3 top laners, 3 mids, 3 junglers, 3 supports, 3 ADC's, and 2 carries.

So I think I'm doing fairly well as a member of my team, but the people in the placement's, they......... don't know what theyre doing tbh.

One said they only played mid and only had 13 mid's. One said adc or feed (He fed anyway), one first picked Sona, and the other decided to go 1/7 before dodging the match.

Tell me how this will accurately place me.

We don't think placements can identify exactly where you should be, but we have to start you somewhere. We could have you play 50 or 100 games, but that lack of visibility would be really frustrating. Think of Promos as the starting point, and then set yourself a goal for when you want to be this season.

Ok, I understand now. Thank you for the reply.

Once you go through your placements though, if they do come out inaccurate you will have to go through more promos in order to climb to where you otherwise would be if your placements were more accurate. I thing the frustrating nature of promos in general creates a desire for having more accurate placements.

Promos have some pain around them, i totally agree. We have some plans to address that for next season.

I don't suppose you can give any teaser details on how?

Yeah, well it ain't working. In season 5 a lot of players played 10 random games then got dumped somewhere in bronze, regardless of where they ended the previous season or what their win/loss record was during their placements.

Also climbing is so FUCKING difficult. You have to get repeated win streaks in order to get anywhere because, even in bronze, you can EASILY lose more LP for a loss than you can gain for a win, even if it's perfectly possible to lose a game through no fault of your own (as in the OP's case). He's now 1 win/4 losses after that pointless waste-of-time game so he has NO chance of placing any higher than Bronze III at BEST, meaning he will continue to be matched with 10-thumbed cretins who literally shouldn't be allowed to play ranked.

The system is broken.

. . . you played one game in your placements... and then want to immediately complain about the process from ONE game? I'll tell you how it accurately places you: Whiner. You are in the Whiner bracket. Keep this up and you'll demote down to Cry Baby bracket... and further complaining could drop you to Big Bad Boob level...

It's ONE game... play your entire placements, get sorted, then bring up an actual argument or discussion instead of just posting a screen shot that shows the lobby didn't have a leader since your team comp is terrible.

Um. He played 5 it looks like.

If you'd actually use your eyes and read my post and saw the picture, you'd see that I have played 5 games.

Also leader. Tell me please. You put 5 random people in a room together with 5 completely different personalities and expect that they all somehow have teamwork and at least 1 has leadership qualities. Oh please, this is a game filled with 10 year olds (like yourself), don't expect anyone to be a leader.

Looks like someone just wanted attention.

First three games of your placements - you were the weak link on your team... so you got sorted with people more on your skill level. You then complain about them... but don't mention that your CS / vision / KDA were bad in your games... but then after a 5th game... blame team mates. Sorry to bring truth to the table, but you're blaming team mates... when you were a bad team mate to START your placements.

http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=Boomerangbro+ Complaining before even placed for the first time? Learn patience. If you are actually good, you'll climb. Blaming your teams does one thing NOthing.

Tbh, he wouldnt have been able to carry that since EVERYBODY on his team went negative besides him. Sometimes, teams are just to heavy to carry.

ya placements suck. was placed low silver but it only took a month to get to plat where i was the seasons before. 10 games isn't an accurate assessment of anything, but it doesn't really matter tbh. with enough games you'll be where you belong. placements just give you a starting point.

They don't, and nobody has ever claimed that they do.

I don't know how many times I have to say it. This bullshit is inevitable when you're matching 5 random people in a game that demands teamwork, then think you can give all of them an accurate representation of individual skill based on that. Go play 5s and you wont have to deal with this bullshit.

@boomerangbro thats one match out of 5 you played, you cant blame where you get on one match, also where you get placed doesn't bound you to that rank, its just where you start, its the fun of the climb afterwards.

if you get placed bronze or silver and cant climb out thats where you belong, its that simple, but if you can climb out of silver easy (I hope) you belong higher, there are alot of myths of elo hell and etc, but anyways yeah
