An issue with towers and team comps.
Since the towers were nerfed, dragon was changed, and 2 items became very popular, it has become quite easy to take a tower. So easy in fact that going with a full AD team comp is actually viable, and sometimes the better option when compared to a team with a mix of AD and AP based champs. Since most abilities don't work on towers, and most AP champions primarily use abilities instead of basic attacks to deal damage, they become under powered in pushing power when compared to their AD counterparts.
AD champs (and tanks to an extent) can take an objective in a VERY short amount of time. And because AD champs / tanks got a few recent buffs and some item buffs (marksmen update, juggernaut update, AD item rework, new AD items), towers fall even faster.
league is a game where kills are not necessary to win. So tanking someone who clears objectives fast is more valuable than someone who kills better. Up until recently, towers didn't go down so easily, so kills actually were kind of needed to get a push advantage. But with weak towers and defensive AD items (such as Sterak's Gage, Maw of Malmortius, and Death's Dance) the threat of being burst down is minimized and will allow the push to continue for a much longer time than it use to.
Seeing a 4 AD champ team with a semi-AP based support (such as Leona) is not uncommon now. So just rushing down the objectives is a common strategy now (especially with the wave pressure the minion update gave). Even in LCS we see towers fall in the first 4 minutes since they are so easy to take. Remember when teams actually protected towers, and not just traded the top and bot outer ones first thing in the game?
Basically something should be reworked here, and I think it is the towers defensive stats. Winning an early team fight should not lose you 2 towers in the same lane when your death timer still is relatively short..
Maybe give them inversely scaling defensive stats where in the beginning of the game they take a very long time to kill, but as the game goes on they get easier and easier (not uniformly mind you, base towers should still be stronger than the ones in the lanes).
