The true only two ways to climb

1-Keep a calm head, no one wins when tilted

2-Find out what you are good at, and perfect that talent

Fact is good players climb, mediocre players don't. Some people think being mediocore is good enough to climb, they make posts "i normally break even". All I have to say is "breaking even" is not good enough. Find a champ you are good at, find a talent you have in the game, be it map awareness, pure raw mechanics, or your ability to lead and shot call. Find out what you are good at, perfect it, and eventually you will climb. Find out what you are good at and be the best at it. Being above average is not good enough, to climb you have to be great.

Screw the whole fox drop "how to get out of elo hell" videos, they give good tips, but fact is to climb you need to be flat out great. Sometimes you will get lucky and get good teams, but eventually your luck will run out, and when this moment happens you better be ready to put on your faker pants.

You can't make a post talking about how to climb to Silvers and Bronze. It's basically telling atheist how to get in heaven, they simply won't believe you. Thus the downvotes on your post.

You shouldn't need to be great to climb out of bronze or silver, lol.

You just need to not mess up as much as all the other players do.

Unless your argument would be that I'm able to climb because I'm good at not being bad? :P

This is more meant for all elos when players find themselves stuck at a specific location on the latter. I just know a lot of friends who talk about "I do fine", when fact is, fine isn't good enough. For if it was, you would obviously be climbing.

Well, there's climbing and there's climbing especially if you are looking at players in Bronze. Sure you can climb if you are not bad, but you can't climb just by being not bad. And if you can't climb, then are you really climbing? Maybe not. So that means that to truly climb, you have to be truly great and have a set of Faker pants.

If you don't have a set of Faker pants, then you aren't a serious LoL player. I mean that's obvious right? And if you get to Gold by just being not bad, then didn't you just rely on your teammates being good enough to carry you?

I suppose I wasn't being very clear.

I don't mean "don't be bad" as in you get a score of like 4/3/10 and were carried. You didn't do "bad" nor did you do "good".

I mean what I said in the prior statement: you need to not mess up.

At any level of play, even master / challenger, winning/losing is rarely determined by insane mechanical outplays where either team could have won/lost in the given circumstances. Most wins/losses are derived from a player or team making a poor decision and the enemy team successfully capitalizing on it.

How often do you win a teamfight and should only be able to take an inhibitor, only for the spawning enemy teammates to run out one by one to try to defend the inhibitor, so you kill them each 5v1 and instead of just getting an inhibitor, you win the game? I'd say that this is by far the most common occurrence in high silver / low gold games (i.e. my experience) and you could probably turn a few of those losses in to wins just by telling your team to give up the inhibitor. I've won games where I've given up 7 inhibitors, 6 dragons, and 2 barons, simply because I know we'll lose if we try to take them but that we can defend our nexus turrets to outlast them and eventually win a teamfight.

Getting back to more general terms - not messing up means:

  • Not dying in situations where you didn't have to die. Recalling and missing a wave that you'd rather not miss / losing your tower is better than getting tower dove and dying only to miss it anyways / lose the tower anyways.
  • Taking objectives that were freely available. Instead of chasing Mundo halfway across the map and not managing to kill him, you just took Baron. Odds are he'll come to you to try to stop you, and you can kill him anyways. etc...

It's not about perfecting some aspect of the game. It's about knowing your champion and your team, and your opponents. Knowing limits, power spikes, opportunities, etc... Knowing when your opponent just made a mistake that you can capitalize on, and knowing NOT to make a mistake that they can capitalize on.

I carried myself to silver promos then went on a 25 game losing streak due to AFK, disconnected players, ADC teemos, shen mids, cait jungles, ect......

It's been a fun journey since. Got back to b2 and repeated the team "experimenting roles again" back to b5.

I normally have a positive kill ratio then other lanes start slow balling and my deaths start racking up because other lanes fed. I've even attempt to show other lanes love to put a fear factor on the other team. Get yelled at for damaging the other teams players.

I'm my mind I feel mid should show love to top and bottom.
