"More useful information within the grasp of a glance issue(you lose focus when you take in a lot of new things)," which is a really good thing.

You see the thing about having a more open HuD with less useless information and more active useful information is that at first you can't handle the amount of information coming across. There is more within the camera to take in and less of the HuD being in the way. When this happens it's rough to keep track of the extra information while being slightly distracted by new visuals.

If you are one of these people and are having a rough time playing the first step is to disables HuD Animations. This will help tone down the amount of distractions and allow you to keep up with the minimap better. The next step is to simply understand the new parts of the HuD. Take a minute and look through it. Don't rage just understand the HuD first. The last step is to just play. Yes that simple. Just play and once you get used to it you will come to enjoy it.

So please. Stop with the rage post. It's pretty annoying to see people just rage and spam the same threads all day. And if you truly dislike the HuD after taking the time to play with it and understand it. Then make a good thread and point out the points you dislike. No one is going to upvote a raging hate post of a player who didn't even give it a wing outside of 1-5 games nor took the time to understand it.

"next step, understand the HuD."

Do you buy machete and two health pots after reading the text of what they do? No? Because you understand what the machete does and looks like along with the pots. You don't need to read what it does.

The readability of your stats is terrible. You learn them not because of the icons, but by trying to memorize where the stats go. The icons basically serve no real purpose and just take up space that could've been used for more intuitive stat reading, like actual acronyms.

The only issues I have with the new HUD are:

  1. I feel like lvling up isn't as obvious. I use to always see when i did on the old one and it is probably because its new and I don't know the ques yet, but I seem to consistently not know I have a lvl up available.

  2. Item location should be able to be changed. Personally I would like my items on the left side of the screen where they were before. I can deal without the champion picture and having it feel a little odd, but its completely new to have them on the other side of the screen after playing for over 2 years.

Just things that I've noticed in the short time I've had to use the new HUD. Overall I like that I have more space with the HUD not being so oppressive. I would like to see if Riot does take a look into allowing you to set up your own personal HUD and have it moveable with an edit mode. I would really like to put my abilities and everything on the left like the old ally pictures.

1 - I'm on the opposite side tbh. I feel it's a little distracting at first but I haven't played too much with the other settings and wonder if HuD animations being turned off might cause you to lose the awareness of level ups.

2 - The item location I don't mind at all but what does get me sometimes is when items are grayed out after another is in effect. Example, I can't tell as easily what other pots I have when crystal flask is active.

Its a few things that just bug me. Nothing that would make me flood the forums with posts about how bad it is lol

I just kind of want the moveable HUD options to customize it. The items don't really bother me, but its more of a habit thing right now than anything. I have seen the gray-out items like you say and my guess is it will be worked on. I also don't like when an ability is usable again it has a moment of being blue like you are oom on the old HUD.

my issue was the loss of the camera lock option, had to look up the key for it in the menu.

The HUD is over-large, doesn't scale well and blocks gank paths. It is blue-side biased.
It is overall a worse experience than the old HUD.

Do you play on a wide screen or full screen monitor?

Jaghatai1 votes

Wide screen at full resolution. 1920x1080 God this would be terribad if I was using my old monitor which was not widescreen.

It already was at the smallest it could be.

Perfectly reasonable thread containing nothing but truths getting massive downvotes. And.... faith in community once again ruined. "Rito y u ignorez us!"

New HUD so far so good more or less. But the loss of the semi-lock camera setting makes play harder for the purple side. The semi-lock gave some balance back to purple team.
