The assassin / carry paradoxon

Usually 5 out of 6 bans are assassins, especially: Akali Zed Fizz KatarinaLeblanc (if played as AD LeeSin ) sometimes Rengar, pre-nerf Warwick No offense - but these champions (partwise), truely are overkill and incredibly save considering the damage they deal.

As a result of these bans carry picks are relatively save. Thus many people in this forum are QQ'ing about carries. Yet - if carries were truely as dominent as these people say - we would see more (targeted) carry bans.

So I was wondering - IF assassins where brought down to a point where they were not must-bans anymore, that would not actually mean bans would be open for other champions, but would also be open to be picked (and destroy carries).

So, maybe bringing down assassin's from their throne (I am not talking about making them unviable) would balance the game out to a more varied meta.

I thought you were going to talk about how assassins shouldn't be carries as well, but this is ok too.

They aqlready moved in the right direction by removing some of the CC from assassins and increasing it on supports.

The odd thing is, assassins aren't even as far above anymore as a lot of people think. I vguess it's that, because of the perma ban, people haven't had the chance to notice.

Soraka actually counters a lot of assasin now, even mid.

In theory maybe.

Practially silence in general is so horribly bugged an unreliable it's not even fun anymore. I love to play Soraka and Cho and it's just god damn frustrating how everybody and his dog still uses abilitied about a second after they already have the silence indicator above their heads.

Assassins aren't banned for being OP, they are banned because most people don't think that their team can survive against them and would rather not face a snowballed/fed one.

tldr people ban assassins because they dont trust their teammates.

Riot has shifted the meta to explosive, burst gameplay.

Making picks and bursting people down for the sake of interesting LCS big plays which is why tanks are useless, and Assassins are dominant.

Banning ADCs largely doesn't matter because the vast majority of their damage comes from their item build. They're largely interchangeable save for whatever bells and whistles they might boast. Sure you can ban the (current) strongest one, but there are plenty of others to step in.
