All the authors of the autofill complaint threads are low elo scrubs

I'm pretty bad myself so my standpoint doesn't mean much here.

With all due respect though, the autofill whining comes straight from bronze/silver/gold elo players. There's a reason you don't see Plat/Diamond people complaining - they've always had autofill in peak times, and dare I say higher elo players are a tiny bit more understanding that you have to know how to play all roles.

I don't mean to discredit their opinion basing on their lower ELO. Their game experience is just as important. I'd just like to note that currently they're the only group complaining, albeit quite a large one, and higher elo players for some reason seem to be quite accepting of this change.

Autofill isn't a good thing. It reinforces the idea that Support is a shameful, unwanted, "somebody has to do it" role that people have to be forced into. But it's a necessary evil. Not just for queue times, but also so that people who queue as Mid/Support don't have to play support 70-80% of the time. Not that you'd know, since y'all whiners only want to solocarry and never queue as support secondary, but it just happens that lately queueing as Support Secondary became much, much better. Go test that shiny Lux skin as mid/support and check it out (just don't go full ap without sightstone when you get Lux support, also check out these dank shielding items, Grail and Censer). Which might convince more people to queue that back, since many resigned when they saw they're getting support too often.

Sure, there's a problem with support role feeling unrewarding, mostly with how you feel obligated to give up all kills to your ADC and how incapable of 1v1 against basically anyone else you are in the game. But for now, we need autofill, and you're all going to have to accept it.

No, it is not necessary.

It was never necessary.

Activating it for all levels of play was an unnecessary and forced change.

People who defend it never once say, "I enjoy it. It's awesome and fun!"

No, they just say, "It's fine, deal with it." Like it's an unwanted obligation.

LoL is a game, not some low paying job where you have to do what you're told, when you're told, as you're told else you lose your job.

Riot has taken great strides in identifying and correcting their mistakes, but autofill is just another one of their screw ups that reminds us all that theirs is a company run by slow monkeys.

They dont complain because in the higher ELOs there are many players who actually WANT to play support. In our low elo, nobody wants to play it because everyone wants to 'carry the game' (even tho they go 0/10 with 70 cs @ 20 min but nvm ).. I personally dont like playing support because my soloq adc always has a hamster brain and doesnt know what the lasthitting means.. I often see that the high elo streamers are getting autofilled to EVERY role, not just support, that should be the reason of no high elo QQing.

Call me a silver scrub, however you want, but forcing me to play something that i dont want to is UNFAIR. I came to relax and play my best role, not supporting and seeing every lane loses.. Damn if i wanted to play support i'd set 'support' as my primary role..

Just my low elo worthless 2 cents.

I don't get why people are complaining about this ._. seriously, people will complain about anything, before season 5, ranked was ALWAYS autofill, how come that during one season people got entitled over their role selection??????

I mean sure I hate it when I'm assigned jungle because I'm an awful jungler but it's not the end of the world, I'll do my best to carry myself out of gold.

Also, communication is key, the other day I got pushed onto support by autofill and asked for ADC, the guy didn't mind it at all and gave me the position while locking in alistar and then we proceeded to carry that game. Good will goes a long way in this game and douche players should not climb too high either way -.-

I have even seen higher elos complain to pull that well the higher ups aren't complaining it's the lowbie that are is ridiculous. I bet you they would not do this to the pros and tell them they have to play that role no swapping (which is usually what happens in game now). I bet if they did they would not be a pro lol game anymore.

You don't get to be the best at your role by not playing it or not being able to focus on it. Granted i play 4 out of the 5 roles but still i should not have to play russian roulette and hope i get one of the two roles I PICKED to play with the system given and that my pages are build around and my masteries. Just to lose a game cause i got support or someone else x role that they have nothing for it's not a skill game at this point it's luck of the draw.

The theme of this season seems to be random chaos. They said the jungle was to boring so hey lets change it all and make it unboring. Then it's wait times are bad so lets force people to play roles that they can't play/have nothing to play/ruins masteries etc in a ranked mode. This has nothing to do with my skill on my role but the hopes of now not having people auto filled on my team now trolling cause they got a role they do not want and will feed(which happens a lot now).

Higher elo players have a better understanding of just how important it is that everyone get a role they're good with.

Silver Elo:

"Guys, I queued for Top/Mid and got Marksman. Can we swap?" "LOL no git gud"

Diamond Elo:

"Guys, I queued for Top/Mid and got Marksman. Can we swap?" "How well can you Marksman?" "Around gold level maybe" "Do you want top?" "No, take mid" "I can trade you support" "How well can you jungle?"

Higher elos recognize that if you give a role to someone who can't play it worth a damn, all they're going to do is feed and make life that much harder.

And no, the "Well, you should play every position" argument isn't going to work. It's important to know how to play every position, but if you're a silver jungler at best and you get auto filled into it at a higher elo then you and your team are at a disadvantage right from the start.

Besides, it's unreasonable to ask everyone to be decent at all positions. You'd need generic rune and mastery pages purchased and set up beforehand, you'd be forced to practice many champions and roles instead of the ones you enjoy the most, and giving people positions they can't perform at their elo creates friction in champ select and in game.

One of the best ways to climb is to become a one trick pony. Yes, practice a few other champs (and a secondary role) just in case your main gets banned or picked before you can, but playing the same champ all the time gives you knowledge about that champ that someone who has to practice lots of champs will never figure out.

Guaranteeing that players will only get one of two roles was an excellent addition that let more players specialize in only their favorite champs and roles and to enjoy playing those choices more often. Auto fill defeats that purpose and takes us back before that to when pick order was all important.

Make no mistake, pick order was bullshit. Things like team builder and new champ select made the game significantly better. Auto fill undoes all that.
