Mejais soulstealer should have gone when blade of the occult and leviathan got removed.. the game is snowbally enough, no need to have this item anymore.

Its not even a noob trap, this item is straight cancer on champions like lux and orianna who have such high ranged damage and cc, alongside shields that the item actually just makes them unstoppable if they get it stacked.

If i dont get to have a stacking ad item on a class of characters where i actually have to take risks to snowball, then ap mages definitely shouldnt get a stacking ap item without having to take risks.

Lmfao I forgot steraks and PD were complained about, but I don't remember death dance complaints if anything people were saying it was too weak and now it's working fine. PD however was complained about cause after the buff it gives great MS, crit and dmg reduction

They mainly complained that "OMG AD has this awesome physical vamp item yet AP doesn't get to have spell vamp wtf."

That and it's broken on Graves.

When did they declare war on TF and Mortal Reminder?

And I'm pretty sure they just declared war on Duskblade, TBC and Youmou's in an effort to make them melee only.

Now if seriously, while I certainly dislike Mejais forced playstyle, screwing the shitty AP itemization even more does not sound good to me.

How is that screwing the shitty ap itemization? Each class had a 'snowball item' and it got removed for the other classes for obvious reasons and it remained for mages because ??????? We cant compare zhonyas to maw but we can definitely compare sword of the occult to mejais because they were almost the exact same item just one was ad and one was ap.

As I recall, their reasoning was that Sword of the Occult was more snowbally than Mejais. Mejai's champions are trying to play safe, and are rewarded for doing so and punished if they're caught. Sword of the Occult was only purchased by AD Assassins that were already ahead to the point that they weren't going to die. They couldn't really plan to "stay safe" to keep their stacks, they needed to dive in, which made it a noob trap unless you where crazy far ahead anyway.

I don't think its anywhere near as problematic as people are letting on in this thread, but I agree there's really no place for it to remain in the game with its AD equivalent taken away.

What's with the shade in the OP though...you really think that no AP mage has to take a risk to snowball? Even on someone like Lux if you want to get a kill in lane you have to throw out your bind, leaving you defenseless against mobile midlaners and junglers briefly if you miss it.

If it was even remotely as problematic as you let on it would be standard on Lux and Orianna. Spoiler alert: its not.

I honestly think that Mejai's is a great item, even though I don't use it. It adds a high risk/reward system into the game and forces you to predict as far as 30 minutes or more into the game. If you predict that you'll get fed and carry the game, you buy it. If you feed instead, it's your own fault for not predicting correctly. You need to consider every single factor into this. Ex.

You are 2/0/0 at 10 minutes.
You are ahead in cs.
No lanes are feeding.

You buy a Soulstealer, and carry the game to victory.

The enemy team drew first blood at top lane.
You are 2/0/0 at 10 minutes.
Bot lane is forced to recall, with no casualties.

You buy a Soulstealer, top and bot lanes fall behind. You are killed multiple times; you sell the Soulstealer and fall behind on gold.

See what I mean? It's all about betting on what you think will happen, and you need to find the correct solution, considering all factors. Also, it's a fun item that forces you to be extremely careful.

Except it's a "win more" item. Believe me, if I get 25 Stacks on Ahri there is no longer a thought process to playing her because I get so much AP early.

I main Ahri, and I can confirm that it's a noobtrap item on her, if not every champion. If you're telling me that you're just gonna buy a Soulstealer and get full stacks that easily, then you're either crazy or a Smurf. Ahri isn't a carry champion, either.

Mejai's is a total noobtrap. Imaqtpie even said it. Even if you have 25 stacks, which is a lot of AP, you're still a squishy mage and die just as easily as before. Yes, Lux can nuke you from orbit, but she can do that anyways, and its not exactly difficult to kill her if you manage to catch up. Just play fighters and destroy those pesky mages, Irelia for example is a nightmare to face.

Honestly, the worst of it all is this little fucker: item 1082 (+ item 2033 ) 15ap and 100mana for 350g , which means it's 133% gold efficient without any of it's passives. If combined with flask, it gives more health for laneing than Dorans ring, which makes it pretty good item for save laneing. And just to top it all of, it can eventuall stack up to 45ap, makeing it a better blasteing want for not even half the cost. It's a NO-risk high-reward item.

And if things work well and you get 10 stacks, you can just upgrade it to mejas and start of with 10 stacks already, makeing it ~129% goldefficient on buy already....

It actually does the opposite. If you're aggressive, you're likely to die and lose stacks. It promotes passive gameplay, so you can stand back, get kills or assists, and avoid dying.

Why take risks and get kills when you can hang back, get assists, and actually keep your stacks? Mejai's is awful on anyone that actually does dangerous things like dive in for kills and is fantastic on champs like Janna that can just shield a dude from range and pick up assists while never being in harm's way.

If they have a fully stacked mejai's you were probably going to lose regardless because that's a 7 killstreak mage on the enemy team. They could have just bought anything else with all that gold and still won. It's not the item that made you lose (in fact it's a huge risk and a good way to throw the game by wasting gold if you die right after).

What made you lose is a 7 killstreak mage

You don't need 7 kills to have a stacked item 3041 . You could be only 2 kills and still have 16 stacks.

1 kill = 4 stacks = 20ap

2 kills is 8 stacks, not 16..

Unless you also arent mentioning assists that life or they already had a 10 stack dark seal. Which again, means you are going to lose regardless.

You cant blame mejais for losing because the enemy team ALREADY HAD A LEGENDARY MAGE before they got it stacked up

If you want proof of it being bad, find a pro game where an ekko went seal and got it up to 10 stacks. Do they upgrade it? No, they dont, no matter what. Because it's bad to do so and you gold is better off elsewhere

Actually none of those mages could actually win WITHOUT mejais in that situation, which is why it exists. They only buy it when they KNOW it will be EASY to get stacks(it's an anti noob buy, you buy it vs anyone whom is 'too ez' to kill, or if you are a support that never dies(raka,nami,Janna,lux,etc). Of all the mages it's only CORE on lux(right there in recommended). And that's because if you are playing lux as intended she should never die in a match anyway, if she does the player is not at her skill ceiling yet.
