Best Time To Take First Scuttle
When do you guys first make your way to river?

I start scuttle. Once it spawns, that's where I begin my jg route. I then follow it up with dragon, then baron, then back to get devourer.
Never.
Scuttle is cute and precious and must be left alone rather than beaten up for profit you greedy bastard.

Scuttle is love Scuttle is life
If my jungler has any kind of issue with sustain, I always take my starting camp, then my first buff, then the scuttler. Gives you a solid 50 gold, time to regenerate some health and mana, and protects nearby lanes from junglers with early gank potential. Also keeps you on that side of the map longer without wasting your time; possibly letting you spot the jungler somewhere else and safely steal their camps.
red side kruggs>raptors>scuttle>red buff
blue side gromp>wolves>scuttle>blue buff
i mostly do it after red (starting bot side) or after blue (starting top side) to heal up, unless i play a jungler that can't clear the whole jungle in one clear, then i will just take on side, and recall to take the other side.
When I jungle I take the two smaller non-buff camps on one side, then I go scuttler because by the time I'm done with the two camps it's about ready to appear and I can place a ward in the river bush to watch for visitors. Once I'm done there I go back for the buff camp. Rinse and repeat on the other side. If I'm lucky the opposing jungler hasn't taken the scuttler on that side and I can add another 50 gold to my stash.
To be honest, I'm usually getting Scuttle at the end of my first clear.
I look to do a full clear into getting Scuttle before my first back. Five camps is enough for your jungle item, but doing a sixth camp and scuttle, along with the extra time needed to clear the jungle, will give you around 250-300 extra gold. In particular, champions with slower clears can get boots on their first back and champions that start with Refillable Potion with the intent to build it into Hunter's Potion can build their Hunter's Potion on their first back.
I usually do my first camp, buff, then scuttle. After that i'll look to gank or keep farming depending on the champ.
If I start on the red side, I start the Krugs and then do raptors. If I have low health, I go for scuttle to get a little health back. If I have a little more health than not, I take red buff and then go to get scuttle. If I start on the blue side, I start the Gromp and then do blue buff. If I have low health, I go for scuttle to get a little health back. If I have a little more health than not, I take the wolf camp and then go get scuttle. I main jungle, but the first time I was the jungle position I hated it and would die really fast. Gromp and then go for both Scuttles.
First camp, red/blue buff, scuttle, second camp. If you have lifesteal in your kit, can do it after last camp on that jg side.
