Higher ping and random spikes since last week

Ever since last wednesday, my ping went from 60-65 to anywhere from 60-120, averaging out at around 95. I used to think it might be my ISP being crap, but after some research around the boards and reddit I've noticed other people have been having this issue as well.

I'm convinced it's on league's side because my ping on other online games I play like Overwatch and r6 siege are consistently at what they should be.

I honestly I have no idea what might be causing these recent dc's/ping spikes, testing out my ping on the cmd gives me the usual 60-70 ping but the moment I get into the game it starts to spike all over the place (this happens to other people as well). Some believe it might be the addition of the voice chat and the toll it takes on the servers making some people's connections worse but disconnecting from them makes absolutely no difference.

Is anyone else in the boards having this problem? Hopefully leaving a comment might make riot notice, though I've heard from some people who submitted support tickets that they don't know what's going on.

my ping is on average about 20 ping higher than normal since last week. besides that ive been playing games with gamewide dcs and lag spikes. please fix this riot.

My ping went from 70 to 86 - 120 after the new patch and this is seriously really annoying. I can barely play a game without the spiking to hider my character movement.

yeah mine used to be 60 and now its 100. and now its down for maintenance for 10 hours and im gonna install fortnite and uninstall this cancer game thats eaten 3 years of my life.

Thank god it isn't just me. I had even mods on this board trying to convince me it had nothing to do with Riot.

The game goes from "This is kind of annoying" to games of "I literally can't even play now".

Spiking sometimes barely to doing it every 1-2 seconds. My internet otherwise is GREAT right now, I have nothing running when I play league, even exiting Steam and browsers and all I ever have open is a music player.

Nothing I do fixes it, tried repairing, completely reinstalled the game, installed and tried using that hextech app that did literally nothing but tell me everything was perfectly fine. Yet when I play just League of Legends, I have ridiculous spikes that didn't happen until as the OP said, last week. Never had this before, and nothing I do fixes it.

Well most of players had experience of weird lag last few days, so i think it on league side special that as you said our ping outside league is the same and fine. and today there was huge lag spike that everyone on the match did feel it.

Definitely had a game yesterday where everyone is game starting to ice skate. I've also noticed that my client seems to need to reconnect every so often. Havne't seen that before.

They should make everyone's ping the same as the person with the highest.

Fun games that would be
