You even said it yourself in the post "Ranked Flex Queue is for players who want to take it more seriously"

So you mean ranked 5's...? This would heavily fix the inevitable problem of extremely high queue times due to split population.

You can't always get 5 people on at the same time. That was the problem with 5s.

That's why the article also mentions that if it really seems that the "Flex" part isn't working out, they'll scrap it and restrict that queue to just 5s.
