Could use another Mage Jungler.

Valhalla Rising··12 votes·2,299 views

We only have 2 Mages that can JungleFiddlesticks Malzahar and they both have low to no gank potential before 6.

Maybe the next one could be early game focused, or just give a pre-existing early game Mage bonus damage or effects vs Jungle monsters to make them viable in the role.

Elise is considered a mage. So is Gragas Evelynn Amumu .

Chembaron Yamada2 votes

Amumu and gragas are tanks (vanguards), evelynn is a diver right now and gets reworked to be an assassin.

Elise partly plays like a mage, the other half is a diver.

He is right that the jungle could use another mage.

I dunno.

Elise is more of a diver/assassin. Evelynn is sort of an assassin/fighter/diver.

Most fun I ever had with AP in the jungle!

You could try Heimer. Pretty good clear speeds with your turrets, you use them kinda like Shaco boxes. From there you wnat to max Q-E-W, waiting to put a point into your W till you have to, as it doesn't do much vs Jungle Creeps.

Ivern's a pretty cheeky jungler, with a decently fun playstyle, Cho also comes to mind, but he's a tad bit more tank oriented, than a mage. However, you will always be able to out-smite the enemy jungler, with your ult.

Last Season there was Karma JG, which had decent clear speed and rather... strong ganks with her point and click, flash burning W.

However the new jungle completly shreds her.

Fiddlesticks is borderline crap considering he is weak early and falls off, and Malzahar jungle got gutted.

Evelynn Elise GragasNidalee are your options but none of them feel like an actual mage.

Nidalee maybe? You could also try Zyra jungle

As someone who have played a lot of Malz jungle (even after getting gutted for no reason), I enjoy jungling with Zyra and Karthus from time to time.

Diver, assassin, warden, unique (leaning towards tank). Just because someone deals magic damage doesn't make him a mage. ^^

My two favourites: Taliyah and Lissandra , altho on Lissy the first clear is incredibly painful. it might be recommended to take a short back after the first two camps to get a item 2032

However they make it up with amazing cc and damage for ganks. Tal with her W displacement and later her ult, and Lissandra... well, ice-claw in Q->W->Ult->Q-> spam mastery icon.

Lissandra's kit is pretty good for a jungler. I think, just a little bit of timing would allow her to jungle.

LOL, upgrade your game, Malz can't jungle anymore after the 3 health change they did to his voidlings, just play a more useful jungler instead of Malzahar.

Malzahar is officially a support now.

Mage junglers: Diana Nidalee Elise Evelynn Chogath Fiddlesticks Gragas Galio

Mage junglers that have some trouble clearing but can still jungle: Akali Ekko Kassadin Rumble

Yes I consider Gragas and Cho a mage, and built that way, they certainly can be. And if Galio isn't a mage, explain to me his 100% AP scaling on Q.

Unless you don't count assassins/divers as mages, in which case the list gets significantly smaller and I would agree with you.

Some of those are assassins and a couple are tanks/bruisers.

Mage kits really aren't suited for the jungle and trying to force them in there is likely to lead to Graves/Kindred 2.0 where the champ is overtuned as fuck in order to be viable in their designed role.

Honestly though, what role a champion offers to a team comp, shouldn't really be concerned with where they actually go. And to an extend, that creates even more variety in those roles.

But yeah, Graves and Kindred really do take a far leap from the original ADC position where marksmen are usually played, to get put into the Jungle position. Mages on the other hand, do have a certain level of variety in their play styles. Even if you exclude, Assassin, Bruisers and AP Divers. You would still be left with Siege, Burst, and Battle mages.

But that's really where the challenge starts. All 3 of these styles of mages, are heavily AoE focused, which tend to work way better against minion waves than Jungle camps. And on top of that, most mages don't have a ton of mobility, which makes ganking difficult. Now you might be a more kite oriented mage with roam potential, or just have long enough range to gank from a distance, but you can do that from mid lane, if you are able to farm mid better than Jungle.
