Host both URF and ARURF over the same weekend and let us see which one gets played more

because we all know which half of the league community stalks these boards more than they actually play the game

about 0.0001% of the community use the boards

  • ARURF hasn't been played yet so would likely recieve far more attention (or the counter argument could be made that players wanted to ensure their own champs and would go to regular URF) so it wouldn't be a fair "vote"

How would it not be fair that people would go to regular URF if the reason is that they want to use their own champs?

If URF can even tie this "new, attention-getting game mode," then that should tell Riot something

because ARURF was made to help counter URF's greatest flaw:

URF had the same bans/picks every single game because some champs were blatantly better than others. You actually couldn't play any champ you want without losing because you saw the same champs in matches over and over again. Now you can't blame the playerbase for wanting to play these champions, but it still creates an unfun environment where you essentially repeat the same games with the same picks/bans every time.

the solution? Make everything random.

I play URF all the time whenever it's out, and you know how many times I'd see the same person in a row? Two times, tops

Their solution to preventing staleness of URF was inventing other game modes that aren't as silly and fun, like Ascension, Poro King and Ranked

on a separate note, the only reason I even like poro king is because it's the only time I'm allowed to use the champ I want in ARAM

With all do respect, your opinion is based purely on your own personal experience.

If you look at any complaint thread about URF or suggestion thread about URF, nearly all of them are about how broken certain champions are and how they only see the same bans/champions the majority of the time

So the real question is, would your rather play the champion you want. (baring other players picking or banning it) Or would you rather not see the same champions picked over and over again?

It's like asking if you would rather play ARAM or Legend of the Poro king? (Not quite the same mode, but close)

I'd rather have random because the chances of getting the champion that I'd want to play (which is among the same 15ish champions everyone wants to play) through both bans and picks is quite slim. It also ruins the whole point of URF which is to screw around and spam shjt, not to go tryhard and only play the same op champions over and over again.

So ya, ARURF is much healthier and will be quite fun, assuming games aren't too imbalanced (which is a possibility, but it's better than seeing the same champions every game)

I recall back when I first played URF, I sometimes picked champions with the intent of a "stress test" A game mode were almost everyone's kit was exadurated, I would use it as a means to see how I like said champions kit.

I think one of the other problems with the Try Hards is the new Hex crafting. Play the Broken champion on URF to get an easy chest. This was the case for me when I got the S rank on AD Malz before his rework. (And the fact I remember that means the last time we had URF mode in any form was before the mage update back in mid season.)

Over all, I look forward to ARURF though. It's not just about facing the same champions over and over again, I tend to enjoy trying to work around the constraints that are given to me. (I play a lot of ARAM)

id rather it get banned than get chosen randomly

at least that way i know it's the player's decision instead of riot's

http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/community/q/ask-riot-urf-champion-update "Every comment I've seen about URF from the players has never been about stagnant metas, or 'perceived best champs' but more so just having it available to play." -Literally Part of Top Comment

so yeah, that's a lie
