What if Ghost allowed you to run through walls?

Maybe with reduced duration?

Yay or Ney?

EDIT: Possibly changes it to "Grants movement speed and allows you to travel through a wall once."

It would make sense thematically, it'd just be crazy OP.

I'm totally for this idea if the duration was toned down, I'm getting sick of seeing flash/ignite dorks everywhere. Your idea would definitely spice up the game. :)))

TheRainInSpain1 votes

The problem it would seem, and this was addressed in a Red Post elsewhere on Boards, that Flash is a reactive spell, while every other Summoner Spell is strategic. This even includes Ignite being more of a strategic spell than a reactive tactical spell.

If Ghost gave you a big burst of speed that decayed over a short period, then we could say Ghost is reactive.

u want yi and udyr walking through walls. ok.

This.

Or Rammus? Ok.

Sion and Rammus would be pick/ban. Every two minutes you'd be gang banged from hell.

Kowe The Ewok1 votes

Currently Rammus is trash tier after the nerfs and jungle changes. Considering his horrible clear and how far he falls behind in jungle he's as far from Op as it can get. (P.S. Rammus was one of my most played ranked junglers last season, I dare say I can judge him relatively well)

after what nerfs? the taunt ones that were like a year ago? he is hardly "trash"

The nerfs that increased the cooldown of his rolling by 60% and nerfed other parts of his kit further (reduced armor shred on E)...

Patch 4.20 Please check the patchnotes or actually try the champion before commenting, ty.

o no not the completely unnoticed armor shred(because he does tons of magic damage) and six whole seconds on rank one of his power ball!!!! its not like that "60%" increase doesnt go back to normal at rank 5, and its not like six seconds and a tad of armor shred lost is what shoves a champion into "shit tier"

just like how lux got 6 seconds on her ult and what 5 move speed? and suddenly shes garbage tier?

and how ziggs got the same sort of move speed treatment and hes no longer viable? shut the fuck up

Kowe The Ewok1 votes

You sir have no clue what you are talking about.

New jungle, less mana sustain, more damage received, less DPS due to both core skills nerfed. Those things add up.

Biut sinc eyou didn't even know about the nerfs you apparently haven't even tried it. You are making yourself look like a fool.

ya man i forgot that increasing some cooldowns and taking armor shred off of an ability that you should not be using on monsters completely wrecks your jungle damage :^)

What happens when ghost expires when your in a thick wall.... Do you become the wall :O

I'd imagine the same thing would happen to you as to wards placed in walls or flashing "inside" a wall. You'd be pushed outside of the structure to the side you were closest to when ghost expired.

It would be OP as as shit. A longer lasting flash that takes a little longer.

Jefftiffy3 votes

That doesn't get you away from the Jinx/Ezreal/Nami/etc ult barreling down at your face when you have about .5s till you die and is effected by slows.

Kowe The Ewok1 votes

Flash gets you instantly into safety allows you to dodge projectiles or unleash an AoE stun. Flash is not only valuable because it allows you to pass walls but simply because it allows you to instantly get into a safe distance of an otherwise devastating spell.

Ghost on the other hand still requires you to run out of your enemies range, it also is predictable.

Galio is the best example: His E is basically a Ghost. How often das Galio succesfully engage by his E - and how often does he succesfully engage by flash? Even though his Flash has more than 20 times the cooldown you'll see much mire successful Flash engages than speed boosted engages.

If it allowed to move trough wall only once per activation, then i don't see problems

Raja Chachki1 votes

*terrain. Let's correct it to terrain, so it can't just move through "walls"

Deep Terror Nami2 votes

It makes a lot of sense, but would probably replace Flash for most situations. Which we shouldn't mind. It's kind of garbage that a couple of Summoner Spells are required over 95% of the time.

Edit: It might not allow going up/down terrain so wouldn't have as much versatility, only goes through trees/walls which end up on the same level. Makes sense like that, unless you're a flying ghost...

Tapu Fini3 votes

I don't think it would strictly replace flash. Flash would still serve as the primary tool to engage fights for champions without mobility, as well as the biggest "oh shit" button. What ghost would be better for, is escaping bad situations before they're an issue.

We'd call it Flash.

Olaf Dude, I am so buffed up right now.

It will certainly be interesting. I will dread seeing an Udyr, Sion or Rammus chase me through a wall after a wall jump as Riven, Yasuo, or Zed though.

Kowe The Ewok1 votes

On the other hand especially Zed is much to save. I don't want to use the term ungankable... But it's appropriate.

DarthSpectrum2 votes

I think the best way to play against Zed is to play Zed first. In all seriousness, before level 6 Zed is one of the easiest champions to gank provided that you know what you are doing.

His shadow has a 17 second CD, but it starts the moment the shadow is thrown out. Zed's only form of slow and gap closer is on his W. Additionally, compared to other assassins or AP casters, he actually has mediocre ratios on his Q and E without his shadow or death mark.

I've managed to become fairly proficient at Zed, scoring over 10 kills on average every game while keeping my deaths around 5. One thing I noticed upon switching back to my other mid laners is how easy it is to kill him pre 6 once you know the shadow mechanics.

My first match back against a Zed, I got a kill on him 2 minutes in by waiting for him to throw his shadow and all in him. Without his shadow, Zed can't win trades unless he is fed, as well he is is extremely immobile. Engage him the moment his shadow expires, and there is nothing he can do to you.

Also, if you chose an AP mid, buy some armor on the first back. Early armor leading to a Zhonyas completely ruins his kill potential in lane.

and the whole game. because "counterplay=making someone useless for the entire game-riot"

DarthSpectrum1 votes

Pretty much =/ Those who complain about Zed being OP rushes Chalice on their first back.

If one were to examine Zed's ratios compared to any other assassins, he or she will find that they are much lower than the average assassin's. In other to out trade another burst champion without Death Mark, Zed has to land a double shuriken.

Even with the damage from death mark, people fail to notice that it only puts him on par with the damage of, say Talon, and Zed will be committed to taking out that one person he marked while Talon can switch targets easily if he has the red buff.

He gets countered so hard by some armor early on, it is just that people don't consider not dying a worthwhile return for their gold.

Ney, Ghost is fine as it is...no need to steal every advantage from flash.

Though the ability in general could be interessting, maybe even on a supportive-Champ ("weaken walls and let his teammates pass through them").

worst idea na

Waawee1 votes

This is what I pictured rek'sai's burrowed form to be able to do. Press w and she would be able to ignore terrain collision. Would have been so cool and possibly broken at the same time.

Alëk1 votes

Heavy MS based junglers would be god-tier.

Sion>Udyr>Skarner>Rammus.

Not even gonna mention what a blitz can do if he could walk through walls and grab people from WITHIN THE WALL!!!!!

Shadow Gilgamesh1 votes

then who would ever take flash?

Leblancs Boob1 votes

Wouldn't make flash any less valued really. Everyone would just take flash ghost

MrSexyHobo1 votes

without something like that champs like garen will never be viable. i flash and your good play is ruined because garen cant ever catch you

CoolKnightST1 votes

It could be a good idea but only if they limit it to only 1 primary spell. So they have to decide between summoner 4, summoner 6 or summoner 12 (with a litte buff). I still don't understand why riot hasn't implemented something like this yet.

Chaotic Reks1 votes

Draven "spooky"

Drunk Rummate1 votes

then ghost would replace flash as the "must have" summoner spell. ghost brings more utility than flash, the only exception being element of surprise and wall jumps.

wouldn't be that good imo though. i think flash plays are more interesting due to the element of surprise and potential for outplay compared to ghost, which is a pretty binary summoner imo.
