Escheton3 votesLook. You do you. But if say, your support asks you to not play something (because they have issues meshing with the champ/playstyle) I advice you do so. Else you start off on a bad foot AND with bad synergy. Your call, but don't complain if you lose lane.

Also, You could do this for basically every Role. Support is just what I used because I frequently play support. I don't really experience alot of other roles.

It's a legitimate issue actually.
As a non-support-main who sometimes plays support, it really is quite sickening how often your ADCs, I mean your teammates, think it's their right to demand what champion you pick. I mean sure, every once in a while as a top laner I'll get a "wtf noob pick a tank" which I ignore... but as a support it's pretty much an every other game issue if you don't play one of the top meta picks.
Marshbouy3 votesI have not had someone yell at me for my support pick in months. I have had people yell at me for my jungle, top, and occasionally ADC picks. Anecdotes mean nothing. People will be rude in online games. Deal with it, it is not exclusive to supporting.
Aqamdax1 votesIt goes for supports as well. I HATE when ADC's try to tell me who to play! I mean seriously, they would rather have a support champ who THEY like, instead a champ I'm good with.. It makes no sense! Last time when that happened, this person was going to be Twitch. He asked me to be Braum. I was ready have a hissy fit on him, but then I decided to shut up and just to be a bitch and not play Braum. I decided to play Soraka instead.. And whaddya know... I ended up saving his furry but more times than I can count. He should be glad I did not go Braum.
Escheton1 votesI feel like there is a bigger difference in supports than adc though. Like, requesting a Zyra main to not play Zyra but play Leona or something might pan out worse than that Zyra requesting a non-Ezreal or non-Vayne pick.
