Tanks with Devourer

I dunno if anyone else has noticed, but tanks with devourer are kind of ridiculous. Once sated, it gives you plenty of damage without building a single other damage item. And you're free to dish out as many autos as possible considering no one is going to focus you.

Rammus Nautilus TahmKench Volibear Malphite are the ones I've seen go full tank.

EDIT: Tried Rammus three times now:

First game I went 4/1/7, had devourer at 8:13, and sated it at 15:32. Was a win.

Second game I went 11/10/8, had devourer at 9:05, and sated at 20:15. Was a loss.

And finally, third game I went 8/6/19, got devourer at 7:24, and sated at 14:11. Was a win.

If you can get control over herald and drag, it really isn't hard to get sated on any champion, and Rammus's clears are not nearly as bad as people make them out to be.

With the possible exception of Tahm, the damage you get isn't worth giving up Cinderhulk for, especially considering you have to actually farm up the Sated Devourer and all these champions are very slow farmers.

Devourer Sion is actually a really great bruiser build.

Oh man, does it work with his passive?

Sadly no, but it synergies with strength of the ages pretty well.

It's an on-hit bruiser build.

I literally just got devourer with Rammus in the first 7 minutes, then sated at 14 minutes. The enemy team wasn't even bad, it's just so easy to get stacks now that there's dragon and rift herald giving you five each.

Wow really?! Maybe this is how you'll make it to diamond. Devourer rammus.

3/1 so far!

It's not a bad idea. Devourer gives an extreme amount of efficiency.

As for if you'll make Diamond, I made it to middle Platinum playing Devourer into full tank Rengar. You'll get there.

Quite frankly, I believe in the math I did behind Devourer versus Warrior. I know it's good.

All the champs you listed with devourer is amazingly bad.

Try it out. I've had very good results with Rammus, haven't tried the rest, but haven't seen them fail yet.

why would rammus build it? i don't remember him having an onhit

the rest are actually decent with it (I prefer Runeglaive on Nautilus because he can proc it constantly, but Riot hates diversity so it's being removed), I can see them all working

Devourer comes with a 60 magic damage on hit, so he's got that. It's not really about using innate on hits, it's more about being able to put constant damage out with devourer while taking none because you're naturally tanky as all hell.

Yeah...Rammus with Devourer is not a good idea. He's not a farming jg and the only AS he needs he can get from AS reds. Cinderhulk is best for him because plenty of armor items stack health. So, he gets bonus health from it while receiving bonus AD from his passive.

The Bearded Bard1 votes

You guys are missing the point. He's innately tanky with a ton of cc. No matter what he builds, he will be decently hard to kill. I'm not saying to go full on-hit rammus, I'm saying you build one damage item, that item being devourer, then full tank. You're now near unkillable while actually putting out damage.

except you wont be tanky then ;D

The Bearded Bard1 votes

Untrue! Rammus is the only one I've tried so far, but I take the free 300 health mastery, tank runes, and he gets a massive amount of armor and mr from his W. I then rush health after my devourer.

I've tried it on Nautilus, it felt horrible. Not sure if Devour works well with his W's on-hit effect due to it actually being a dot - so reapplying it twice in an instant does nothing.
