I mean i know in bronze eve and yi are like the go to spams to climb but silver? I expected more for whatever reason lol

Yea, but when you climb out of silver and bronze with them to whewre people know how to handle them, then you are gonna be stuck if those champs are the highest skill caps you can play lol

Actually what I think counters Yi is CC or proper focus on certain champions. Yi can still shred through tanks due to his true damage and/or his on-hits.

I do tend to see people in lower elo not having proper focus, where they try to target a tank/support instead of the adc or in this case, Yi.

Well, tanks are better than CC mages and here's why:

Tanks not only have CC, but they have other ways to hinder an enemy from getting a kill, whether it be debuffs, ally protection, or movement denial. They are also much bulkier and cannot be focused, meaning that a Yi will have a hell of a harder time killing a carry with someone breathing down his neck spamming their skills if he chooses to ignore them.

Ever tried to dive a carry against a Tahm or a Nautilus? You'll be miserable.

I do see your point. I was originally thinking that you were referencing tanks without the CC part, so I figured I could add that to emphasize. A Yi can still kill a tank, but compared to killing an adc, a tank would be harder due to its CC and buffs/debuffs.

Also Yi has flat true damage, so it'll still take a while to whittle down a large HP pool.

Can confirm as bronzie who loves tanky champs, Yi doesn't give a shit, he'll shred you. The trade off is you can just stun him and mentally capable allies should take that moment or two to remove him from the Rift due to his relative squishiness. Proper focus is definitely the issue, I myself struggle with it at times.
