PSA Minion Changes were a Good Idea

In theory. By themselves they may have been a good change, but combined with changes to snowball, and even minion unit collision, this mechanic is now broken and immediately allows the winning team to get more dragons/rift crab/barons. And furthermore, combined with baron buff, these minions are literally unstoppable gods of war.

I understand this is preseason, and I do like improved snowball, but universal minion strength is a BAD way to implement if. When the enemy team was ahead last season, you could try to fight them in clever ways to win. Now you also have to deal with their minions.

This is exactly it.

This change promotes team snowballing and destroys individual snowballing.

Contrary to what alot of people think, individual snowballing is actually one of the ways that team snowballing is countered. If you have 2 lanes that lose, but 1 lane can individually snowball (including jungle), they can help bring your team back from the brink by rescuing the weak lanes through ganks and pressure.

That is no longer possible.

You cannot bring back lanes that are losing from the brink because the minute they lose tower, someone has to babysit that lane. If it's a weak laner, the enemies can change strategy to dive him and then take the next turret. If it's your strong laner, the enemy can change strategy to engage your weakened team 4v4 and send their fed to 1v1 your fed. You also can't leave lane to rescue weak lanes too often because if you lose tower in your lane, you'll increase the pressure on your team even further, which is unfortunate because often you could sacrifice tower to rescue 2 lanes.

Exactly!

The thing that sucks the most about this patch is that there is no counterplay an individual can provide, as the entire team is pressed to actually counteract the pushing winions. If the entire team doesn't play it right, then not only is there nothing an individual can do, there is also no way to win the game even if there is only 5 kills and a tower or two difference (it takes a lot more to throw the game than it did before).

"improved snowball" is by far the worst change of pre-season.

I like how I'm getting downvoted for including that in my original post. I know everyone likes the feeling of being able to carry, and that is the snowball I implied.

This is a post talking about why the new minion changes combined with the horribad unit collision changes makes for a horrible time for players who are just slightly behind.
