Why is opening mid this wild unheard of concept in low elo?
If high elo does it, why is it this "OMG NEVER SURRENDER WE WILL COMEBACK " mentality. Especially when its 4v5? Or if we are literally 20-30k behind. Or literally dont have a sin gle turret

Because in low elo, it often IS possible to come back.

Some people don't know how to take advantage of their lead and throw it away. I've also seen some teams get outright overconfident and make plays they shouldn't, resulting in a loss while the score is still down. It's interesting, and honestly you'll never know who's going to win until you see the endscore screen, so why not give it a good try.
Unless it's like, 20 to 0 there is no point in opening mid.
Only decent/good players know how to end games with their leads.
I can't count the number of times our team actually won a game when it was looking bad.
Honestly, way to many people are just "quitters". If they have not won the game or are not "winning" they just quit.
If Riot published that data, I am sure employers would love it.
Honestly, Win or Lose, I play the game to have fun. (I play to win, but I make sure I'm having fun)
And this is where I will annoy a few people, but even in a match I'm sure to lose, I find interest in seeing how Long I can hold out. (Like playing the defensive side in Nexus siege) Where many of my peers feel like a losing game is a waste of their time, I do enjoy playing out the last stand, and if it turns out it becomes a total reversal, that's just an unexpected pleasure.
The only time I really vote to surrender, if the game stops being fun. That usually happens in a complete stop, where you spend more time looking at the gray screen than actually playing. (Yet some how, that complete stomp hasn't closed out the game.) And it always seems to me that the one initiating the surrender vote, is the one with the most deaths. (Or that one guy who needs to leave, and doesn't want the penalty for AFKing.)
High elo players are much better at keeping a lead/ closing out a game, bronze and silver players not so much, In low elo its much more of a possibility that the team with the lead can throw away that lead w/ a bad baron/elder call, or just 1 bad teamfight.
Do high elo players even do it all that often? I'm pretty sure Master and above don't even do it that much. Heck, I distinctly remember a Bjergsen stream where he was smurfing (smurfing for him, pretty sure it was still like Master), his team was asking to open mid and then they just start to completely stomp and Bjerg just kept typing "open mid" as a joke every time he died, even though he was like 20/3 or whatever. He, one of the highest elo people in NA, thought it was a joke to open mid. You never know what will happen in this game.
Besides, low elo have way better chance to come back when the enemy team messes up for no reason and throws their lead. That's solo queue in a nutshell, basically. You never know what's going to happen.
PLUS, you can't wait until 20 minutes to just put out the surrender vote? Do you think they can push fast enough to win in less than 20? How early are you saying "open mid" exactly? You can't get reported for surrendering, you CAN get reported for "open mid".
Low Elo games early game is less important. Gold and below laning phase is pretty meaningless. And once u stall the game out past 40 mins anyone can win because players don't know how to not die for stupied reasons at that level
Because it's stupid to open mid in low elo. The enemy team will throw their lead 75% of the time.
