Brain Storm New Assassin Items

Lets all brainstorm a better new ad assassin item for rito. They apparently too busy. Something that is cooler than a free execute with one auto like that nightfall passive.

I thought something like master yi's passive on his ulti would be better. Kills reset your abilities, maybe even your ulti. I sort of wonder what the game would be like if master yi also reset his ulti cooldown upon kill or assist. It would be fun to watch faker take yi midlane with this item available. The thing is, master yi is fun to watch once and a while, but he isnt someone you want to see all the time.

I also thought that a vision item that gives a bunch of dmg would be really good for them. So an assassin can have a yellow trinket but also scan a bush for themselves when they need to. I sort of like this item because it would put more pressure on them to rework akali. Its also really strong in that you can control vision when you are ahead and completely dominate the jungler and bot lane simultaneously. Also, I think making assassins more dependant on vision control rather than dmg would be good for the game. Right now, assassins will always be strong because of their dueling and dmg (facerollability). If they were more about vision than dmg, it would fit the whole "assassin" theme better because and assassin you can see is not supposed to be very dangerous, but atm an assassin you can see in this game is still very dangerous.

Well ad assassins are getting a new item. It might as well be one that makes the role more sensible and complex than super high dmg and easy target access.

This is why no one takes Gameplay seriously anymore.

I just come on here to talk about my ideas because thats what stimulates my own imagination. Yea. Sometimes I will throw out an idea that doesnt work, but if you punish someone for doing that then you really never get anywhere in design. I think the vision item has some merit regardless of the yi idea. Part of me just wants to see faker run amok on yi. You cant really blame me for that.

Not really, vision is fine as it is. It gives laners a good amount of vision options while pushing the bulk warding on the jungler / support. Jungle is essentially a global support role anyways.

I thought that the vision item would create some interplay between phantom dancer and assassins. If the assassin surprises you and gets the first hit because of vision games, then phantom dancer doesnt help you against them, but if you get the first strike then phantom dancer reeeeally helps you duel that assassin.

So its about the question "does the assassin do a good job of imitating a real life assassin in being an unseen threat". If they do a bad job and get seen then the adc can apply phantom dancers passive and duel them. If they do the sneaky thing then they get the faceroll.

Phantom Dancer would even be a cool name for the theme because assassins are supposed to be like phantoms and this item would help you dance with them.

Assassin's don't need items. Everyone else needs items to counter assassin's.

Regarding the vision item. It gives a good bit of dmg in whatever way you might want it to (armor pen, ad, just whatever ok?), but the sweeper passive gets reset upon kill. Maybe even its a one shot passive (doesnt have a cooldown) and only resets upon kill because assassins should have some double edged oneshot mechanic. They can one shot you, but they only get one shot otherwise their cover is blown and they have to struggle through everything. Thats what a real assassin might face.

You could even sort of hype up the dmg on the item and link that dmg to the cooldown. It gives a lot of base ad, but you only get a lot of % armor pen for the first 3 seconds after you activate and sweep your bush. If you dont get the kill in the next 5 seconds, you cant even reset the cooldown for 30 seconds or more. Maybe it has a two stage active. One stage sweeps a bush. The next activation gives stats temporarily and stuff. That would be a new league mechanic in a lot of ways. Might expand the game.

Idk guys I think this would be a really cool idea and would be really easy to test on the pbe. There are a lot of ways to balance it bc of all the possible ways you can make that cooldown work. Just create a bunch of iterations of this item and put them all on the pbe at once. See which one does what you need it to do, and then pick the one that makes for the coolest gameplay.
