Why do Assassins get EVERYTHING better? Serious answer Riot

GreyfellD··7 votes·1,052 views

Sick of this biased love towards assassins because assassin players buy more skins.

All the Assassin reworks have granted them RIDICULOUS mobility, never seen in the game before but the support reworks were lackluster and locked a load of champs into that one lane so they never will see play because Pyke, Rakan and Thresh exist, overloaded to the core and so superior to every other support in the game.

Why are Enchanters nerfed into the ground when they are the ONLY class that can counter the massive influx of assassins within the game (albeit barely because damage is so high). Did enough assassin mains in Korea complain about it?

Why do these champions deserve to be so powerful AND have NO resource, a joke resource like "Energy" or very little mana costs?

Why do these champions deserve the best mobility in the game, when they are designed to use it to GET INTO a fight, NOT get out unharmed as well?

Why do Riot exclusively design clearly better items then their AP counterparts - item 3155 and item 3147?

If you want to cater to just one class, then fine... tell me so I can leave the game now because I am sick of having Riot straight up LIE to our face that they care about all the classes and their balance levels while ignoring blanant problems with damage creep.

This season has been the WORST damage creep and mobility creep of ANY season that League has ever had and I think its because of League losing players to faster paced FPS's like Overwatch or Fornite.

League is NOT like those games so stop trying to turn the game INTO that.

Even their new game mode Nexus Crash STINKS of Riot's desperate attempt to compete with Overwatch and they are just pissing off their dwindling playerbase that ARN'T assassin mains.

Also STOP putting clearly ASSASSIN champions like Pyke into the game and then trying to call them "SUPPORT". He's not and he never will be. He is a toxic, horribly overloaded champion that has ruined the support meta completely.

ITS SO FRUSTRATING to see a game that used to be so diverse, catering to a wide variety of playstyles, do this.

Shield/Heal spam is pure stat check gameplay, the assassin reworks attempted to get rid of stat sticks in exchange for giving assassins tools to move around new gimmicks that would delay their burst but still let them have the burst - attempting to please all camps. That PBE rework for Locket which made it a zone shield is an example of them trying to do the same thing to support peel mechanics, giving it counterplay.

Yes, I know Duskblade exists and that the stat check thing didn't work in the end. But that was the intention. Keep in mind that I'm a Taric main and he's 90% shield heal spam.

Taric isn't that because he goes OOM in about 2 heals. His mana costs are horrendous so to call him "spam" is inaccurate.

So answer me this: why is it ok to have a damage stat check (i.e. the bananas power spike that from finishing duskblade), but it's not ok to have a defensive stat check with heals/shields?

It's literally the same thing looked at from a different angle. And the locket thing is just absurd because Electrocute and Duskblade can both be procced a couple of times in a team fight by a good player, while locket will only go off once with a long cd.

My hunch is that people who play divers and assassins complained about it being unfun to play into enchanters? But guess what? IT'S ALWAYS GOING TO BE UNFUN TO PLAY AGAINST YOUR COUNTER.

Marksmen hate playing into assassins. Poke champs hate playing into engage tanks. Tanks hate playing into lane bully fighters. Tank supports hate playing into mage supports. It's unfun to be counter picked. That's just how it is. In those situations you are supposed to derive your satisfaction from successfully outplaying the matchup.

Now, I do believe the ardent meta was a little strong back then. But I believe the nerf to ardent on it's own combined with the implementation of Electrocute completely balanced the assassin vs enchanter matchup. Having a damage crutch like Duskblade be essential and account for so much of the burst damage is completely unnecessary,

that's why i take biscuit delivery on him helps him resist poke in ap support match ups plus it gives max mana with some regen

Riot doesn't just follow our demands when we complain, what makes you think they would do that for the Korean community?

I agree that Riot should cater to all play-styles instead of just the flavors of the month, but to claim that they listen to the community is kind of silly, given that people often complain that Riot doesn't listen to the community most of the time anyways.

More money in Korea then their NA and EU fanbases I suspect. They listen to the Korean "pro" teams all the time.

I'm going to have to see some proof for those unsubstantiated claims. Presenting them as proof of your initial claim without proving them first is just as wrong as providing the initial claim by itself without proof.

I could say apples are a vegetable. That is like your initial claim.

I could then say apples are a vegetable because they grow underground. That is like your claim about money.

Claims must be proven first before they can be treated as evidence for other claims.

Because they actually win in proplay? If I was to get feedback i'm asking the team that won 3 times over teams that didn't win at all or didn't reach finals for awhile.

So much salt, zero facts.

None of the supports you listed have overloaded kits;

Pyke is an assassin support, almost all of his kit is in his R. His damage is comparable to other supports at best. Many even outdamage him.

Rakan isnt an assassin.

Neither is thresh.

Enchanters have been meta since S1.

Mage itemization and assassin itemization are different because they need different things. Mages have massive range and burst, assassins dont have nearly the same level of range or waveclear, so they itemize tools that allow them to not be burst immediately.

GreyfellD1 votes

Nice try but Thresh and Rakan were examples of "modern" Overloaded supports that do mostly everything with little to no drawbacks. AD items are better then mage items and you can see that so you are probably an assassin main.

Pika Fox2 votes

Their kits arent overloaded. They can do interesting things, but if you want problematic support kits janna and sona are the poster childs.

And im a support (leona) main. If you think damage is by default better, ill laugh while you struggle to kill me.

You do realize; Fizz always had his Q and E Khazix always had his E Shaco always had this Q Rengar always had his passive Ekko is exactly the same but with number changes so he can't go tank Kassadin is exactly the same but with no silence. Leblanc had the same mobility pre and post rework and current is basically reverted minus numbers Nidalee if you consider her an assassin is unchanged in recent years reguarding mobility Nocturne has been exactly the same MonkeyKing never changed Zed is the same but his ult gives AD

That leaves only Akali (assassin update akali W) Katarina Talon Evelynn that actually got more mobility.. but even talon and kat had mobility before that.

Because most of them already HAVE insane mobility child

I always love when people start their post with "Sick of this biased love" and what follows is a 100% biased shitpost.
