Whats the point of picking roles if your just going to be given support every time...

Autofill is there to make people who don't play the less played roles do their duty and play the less played roles.

If you play support once in a while you won't have to deal with autofill. Don't be one of those people who refuse to learn all roles and then complain when that lack of game knowledge comes back to haunt them.

Its players duty, to play roles they hate? Supposed to hate league? Not hate it straightup, but you will hate that match your forced to play something you hate, its just gonna promote and push more trolling, if i have to play supp im probably still going to play my top or mid main anyways.

You hating something is your own problem. You can hate the system all you like, but so long as you're using it you should follow it's rules.

I hear what you're saying, I just think the problem is that people hate things they don't like, rather than the problem being anything to do with autofill.

This wasnt a rule until this patch though, you used to be able to play the roles you wanted without having to worry about being the focus of everyones toxicity as the support, i dont want to have to deal with the idiot adc players in norms that want to go melee ezreal, or hybrid draven...

As the song goes "you can't always get what you want". It's obviously not ideal, but it is currently necessary for the majority.

Just learn a champion you can enjoy playing in every role, and learn to play them well. Keep your skill up with said champion and put the rest of your effort into your chosen role. You don't have to carry, you just have to allow yourself to be carried.

Normally i wouldnt mind support, but its the idiotic adcs that use their mobility to engage a fight in lane, then die as a result and blame you for their idiotic desicion, legit any other role then support i dont mind, but support is something i dont want to do in norms....

They don't have to force us !!! I have no problem playing support or trying different roles I just hate the fact that I am forced to do it ! Some people want to spam one role to get better at it before learning another role. I mean I understand that riot wants to fix Q time and make more support players but this is not a good solution. I like the fact they did support champion rotation but autofilling is complete garbage to me. And if this feature is activated in ranked you should expect more trolls and toxic people... So now I have to practice 3 more roles 3 champs each before going ranked again ? is thats a good idea ? do I have to be good at 5 roles while I am still a silver player ?

When it was pick order, you had to be able to play at least 3 roles and had to know how to play all 5.

tell me why anyone should care about the past? b4 u got a lower cd for tping to a tower... like whoopdie doo i learned somehing new. They made draft mode so you could choose a role and play it. From what i understand they did it so that people didnt have to deal with playing all five roles and if thats the reason they made it why would they force people to go back to learning all five roles?

They did it to lower toxicity and bickering more likely than to have players learn all five roles. They also do want players to fundamentally understand the five roles as well. They probably made the role selection change so that players could more often get their preferred roles and in general be more cooperative because they got their main role.

The problem is that everyone abandoned support. And those that play support as a secondary had to keep playing support over their main role. Then THOSE players abandoned support as a secondary, leading to a greater shortage of supports.

Just saying, the past puts perspective on the complaints of today. The auto-fill complaints to me are pretty ridiculous, especially since you use to more often than not, have to play your non-main role (1 out of every 4 or 5 games). Now you play your non-main role maybe 1 out of every 3 or 4 games. I'll take that easily if it doesn't lead to the mass exodus of the support position by those that played it as their secondary.

You also develop more as a player by having to play and understand other roles. People are complaining because they are forced to play a role they do not select, every now and then. Maybe people got use to only having to play 2 roles, but this also led to a strong disconnect among the player community and roles they did not play.

Autofill only manifested because of a shortage of players wanting to play support. Which led to more players that played support in their off role getting support, because the community kept picking the damage roles. I don't know if this was largely a problem in the queue times for low or high elo, but my guess would be that a lot of lower Elo players began to completely abandon the support role entirely.

Why force roles onto people that may not be trying to advance that role. At least allow it to be disabled.

Allowing it to be disabled defeats the point of it. The only people that might not disable it are the ones who are already going in as support and/or fill which would lead us back to where we are right now.

Then why have autofill enabled at all times to begin with? No one likes it and que times arent generally an issue for the lower elos, but now when i just want to relax and jungle i instead get support and get badmouthed by the adc if i accidently take a cs after i got them a triple kill...

You have to master 5 roles before playing ranked so it won't be your first time. Good idea riot ! Good job going full retard DrMundo ! Rip all low elo elo players who can barely play two roles two champs each ( Im one of them ). Oh yeah I forgot don't forget to remove draft pick so I can't even practice my roles. Soon This game is gonna be 10 retards DrMundo running down the map they don't how to play their roles (low elo).

It use to be pick order and the last pick was typically the support. For the most part, people were fine with that, but I will say sometimes people were really toxic about not getting their role. I think the ability to pick roles in queue is both good and bad. It is nice getting you main role more often, however, it made people play less and less support. So support mains NEVER played other roles and support secondaries, like myself, ALWAYS got support.

Autofill will fix queue times and make is so that people don't abandon the support role. I ended up queuing as top mid if wanted to play top.

I never once got auto Filled at all with over 700 games played this season. It is not something that is super common. Unless you are like diamond+

They just made it more likely to occur in the last patch or the one prior.

I go top,mid, and jg. and yet three games in a row i get support, when i dont even touch support and adc. Really skeptical about trying to rank up with this feature being in.

No one is being forced to do anything here. There are other queues for people who don't like the way autofill works. It's your choice if you decide to play an autofill queue.

That's a relatively new thing. Back in the day draft was ruled by pick order, and if you were low on the player list you didn't get a choice of what to play.

Trust me, the randomness of how it currently is is much better than the old system.

@redniwediS just so you know I do play support when I choose it. But forcing roles onto people is not the answer. All that will do is make people dodge or afk. Then it ruins the experience for 4 other people.

Yes, I agree... Longer queue times in ranked > than playing a role you are basically assured to lose since you dont practice it nearly as much... Nothings worse than being forced onto supp, when YOU BOUGHT NO SUPPORT champs. Then you feed, then you get reported, then you cant rank up, then you rage, then riot doesnt care because they feast on the negative energies of the playerbase like fucking vampires

I hate having to play support because of the dumbass meta they force... No one should have to play healer if they dont want to... I constantly get flamed when I tell people I'm not gonna brainlessly subscribe to the meta they want... I only do this in norms btw since most of these guys instantly start flaming... and I dont wanna get reported for playing the game i love in the best way i can..
