Duo supports better than traditional bot lane?

Well, in general if a team can capitalize on the enemy ADC not getting any kills at all, then having better sustain will win a lot of the time. That's actually why they've clamped down so hard on adc lane sustain, like with the nerfs to Overheal and Relic Shield.

Taking duo support, or more specifically Sona Taric since they both have shields and heals, is an extension of that. There's also the fact you get much more vision once they've both completed their missions, but that's more of a bonus.

But it'll likely be hit in some way soon. My guess would be they're going to make it so support items can't stack in the vicinity of someone else with a support item.

It's all fun and games until you get out-scaled.

Supports are strong early. The issue is that they get outscaled. If you're ONLY worried about lane, the reason why duo support would lane better is because they're designed to.
