It wasn't removed. It was changed to Abyssal mask. item 3001

Yeah but Abyssal Mask isn't something you take on a mage or just any AP champion

The original version was AP/MR, not HP/MR, it was a completely different item. Basically, banshees and abyssal had their passives and names swapped, then abyssal got eternity for some reason.

They gave it eternity because they changed the build path of Righteous glory, and they wanted catalyst to still be usable as a tank item. Also spectral cowl built into item 3065 and item 3194 . I feel like this would be less of a problem if Banshee's built from item 1057 instead of just item 1033 . Such an awkward build path.

It was stat-swapped with Banshee's Veil, the passives makes more sense that way.

They keep removing the most creative and cool items. Why do they do this, if you take a look at smite, their items are soooooooooo cool. All these aura items are still in the game, but smite knows how to balance these items but league just removes them cuz they are all iron league xD
