I feel like Yasuo trades of nothing for lots of damage, CC, mobility, armor pen, shield, 175 range.

It's like he has everything and doesn't trade off anything for it. Tons of damage, mobility and CC. No mana, shield sustain, free armor pen on ult plus conqueror. The only trade off is he is a melee champ, but has 175 range and has enough mobility to more than make up for it. Even if he doesn't have minions to dash through, he can ult off his team knockup to get into the fight.

The only point of weakness is during his ult where he is self CCed for 1 second and can't use his W. Thats the only point where it is easy to hit Yas, but even then, he gets his shield renewed on ult, making him hard to kill.

So someone pls tell me, what it is Yasuo gives up for such an overloaded kit? Whats is his weakness?

scales the worst of any melee carry, has the most conditional target access and chase potential, survival hinges on Wind Wall which means he gets stomped out hard in lane against opponents who don't care about it

also the only melee carry who has a good portion of his damage being avoidable (Q)

Don't forget the fact that one of his abilities will LITERALLY do nothing against around half the cast.

You really do have no idea what you're talking about

Yasuo really isn't that good. There's many reasons why he's almost never picked in LCS. His mobility is completely dependent on minions. If there are no enemy minions around he's not going anywhere. And as Moody said the 'q' can be dodged extremely easily. He needs to land it 3 times in a row, or he has no cc or ult, unlike other champions who just have access to their ult, cc and mobility the instant they want it. Yasuo is a gimmick champ that only works against bad players. That's all there is to it.

To be more honest, he has seen some LCS play, even fairly recently. How good he was in those games is still questionable.

Yasuo is only REALLY good if you feed him early or his entire team plays around him. (Or if you are moe aka Yassuo, but thats another story all together)

That being said, when mastered, he is a perfectly viable champion for solo queue, but he requires FAR more effort to be good at than most people will let on.

To the OP: Play 50-100 games on Yasuo. You will see that his kit is not nearly as strong as it is perceived to be.

Yes you're right he can be good when you build a team around him (full of knockups and displacements), but that's precisely the reason why he's not picked so much. He NEEDS those knockups and displacements or it's very hard to get into the enemy backline (without flash obviously). With other champions you don't have that problem. They just work very well regardless of your team comp. And even if he makes it into the enemy backline he still has all the problems I mentioned earlier (skillshot dependent, situational mobility and very squishy).

And you're right he is very strong when you master him, but other champs are easier to fit into comps and require very little effort to master. They also have significantly less counterplay so it's easier to make plays and carry with them.

glad to see we are in agreement :)

Yasuo doesn't scale well and must push the wave regardless of the situation in order to charge his abilities or using his mobility, and his only defense is on a long af cooldown. He is incredibly easy to punish and gank, since the lane is constantly pushing to you, and if you can bait his Windwall with even your longest cooldown, you'll get your full rotation back up before he gets another one. He is incredibly dependent on his two-item powerspike to get anything done, so if you can deny him gold, his team is basically down a player.

So his downside is he doesn’t do well in the late game. In a game where the late game doesn’t exist?

Ok, you do see how what you said isn't a valid complaint, right? If it is, then lets nerf pantheon for his only weakness being late game, as his early game is too good in a game where late game doesn't exist.

How is that not valid. :/ if his weakness isn’t exploitable because games never make it that far then his one weakness isn’t actually a weakness anymore it’s irrelevant.

Spicy Rice1 votes

Because it's not an issue with him in particular, but rather with the current pacing of the game.

If theres and item thats good on multiple champs, you don't nerf the champs, you nerf the item.

Not to mention, due to his high skill cap, his winrate is extremely sensitive to any change that affects him.

E.G. A while back, riot unintentionally nerfed his flow generation so it took around twice as long for him to gain a shield. That patch, he dropped about 3-4% simply due to that minor change.

Everything you said was fine except for saying that the late game hyper carry doesn't scale well

Not only that, his abilities are free. No mana to spend or have to waste until he's OOM.

Yasuo is one of the broken champions that can spam abilities and never worry about Mana running out. THis game is so broken on so many levels.

Spicy Rice1 votes

Then go play something else, if the game is so absolutely broken for you. That, or maybe stop using hyperboles so that your comments don't sound like the ranting of a lunatic

he also has relatively low cooldowns on all abilities besides wind wall. Q is low cd, so he can basically keep you shoved in.

E has almost no cd, but has a cd per target (but for some reason the person he's playing against isnt able to see this)

And his R seems to be up all the time. He'll ult you, get a kill, recall, come back to lane, and it's up again

You are right. He has NONE of the weaknesses that other champs are given for the advantages.

This is CLASSIC CT design if he is not put under someone who actually knows what balance is.
