Why Does Irelia Do So Much Damage

I cant beat it her damage is crazy like I just dont know what to do it just seems unbeatable

First off, when you have these kinds of questions I advice you to go over to r/summonerschool Secondly, what champion did you play against Irelia? She can deal a fair amount of dmg to most champions in the early game like Old Irelia but she still gets outdamaged fairly easy by a lot of champs.

I was playing Fiora but would just lose the 1v1 even if i play around her abilities and ill admit it im not exactly a fiora main but i do understand the champion to a good extent but it just felt like even though we were even on items she did a fuck ton more damage than me

The Irelia vs Fiora is mostly a skill matchup but it is more favoured towards Fiora. First off, you have to respect Irelias level 1. Try to trade with her BEFORE she has 3-4 stacks of her passive, otherwise she will almost always win. Afterwards, at level 3, you dont have to block Irelias E with your W, instead use your W as a way to slow down Irelias AS and maybe make her miss her Q. Dont use your E on Irelia when she is on her W form and when she is on her W form then do your best to ONLY hit your vitals since true dmg ignores dmg reduction. When you reach level 6, if youre skilled enough with the ult youll flat out win a trade.

Btw most irelias go with boneplating, so do your best to bait that out before engaging. There are videos on Fiora vs Irelia you can watch (but only from this and the last patch since Irelia was garbage in laning before).

We did some planning recently to identify initial targets for Worlds balance. Run through of that below. As usual this is subject to change. Worlds will be played on the 8.19 patch, though we're aiming to have a lot of the changes in for 8.18 in case any of them need followup. We believe the pro meta's in a decent spot overall. The overall targets we're using for Worlds balance are:

An interesting and fun to watch experience is most important from a viewer perspective.

A diverse meta's good, but not as important as interesting matches (better low diversity and exciting games than high diversity and slow, uneventful play repeatedly)
