draven axes need to fall smarter...

its entirely possible to direct your axes and then outrun them. they dont lead draven by enough.

I stopped playing him because of that. You hit your w when a ax is flying and end up either having to stop for it or backtrack for it. Its more of a issue when trying to kite away.

They actually tried doing this a long time ago by making the distance his axes flew scale with his movement speed.

Draven players couldn't stand it and all preferred the old way because they knew it better so Riot changed it back.

how about if the axes fall where you actually click or within catch-able distance, whichever is shorter...as in not a fixed distance.

They'd basically be homing in on you at that point, kind of eliminates the whole axe-catching mini-game.

no it doesnt....catching the axe is about planning where you want to be in 2 seconds and committing hard to that action. Its about axe placement. The minigame isnt about axe catching to me. Its about placement. Or at least it should be, imo.

Thematically, I always thought that the axes were cool cause draven is bouncing axes off your face in exactly the direction he wants to go. Hes basically alley-ooping himself the whole game, and thats pretty cool except apparently draven isnt skilled enough to bounce the axes exactly where he wants them to go and thats a bit weak imo.

IMO, the problem is that you can direct them, but you cant place them and that really fucks with your positioning on a champ that is immobile and medium to short ranged.

I mean, lets not forget that the axes fall about 300+ units away from you but even 50 units of distance can be really impactful in your positioning. Its not like theres any real gameplay around forcing draven to direct an ax in a way that exploits the fixed distance inconvenience. Is there?

The real counterplay is that the enemy can see his glyphs and aim dark bindings or blitz/thresh hooks over that spot. This change might make draven's life a little more convenient, but it doesnt remove that counterplay at all.

mainly because it didnt work as intended.

There was actually a time where Riot tried making them lead Draven farther based on his movement speed. Turns out Draven players didn't like being locked into moving in straight lines to catch axes. Dedicated Draven players prefer the mastery that can be shown by juking around and dodging skillshots on the way to catch an axe; it makes them less predictable.

they dont need to band aid draven any more than they already have

Woook3r1 votes

?? WHat are draven's bandaids?

undesirable team1 votes

or they fall where you're walking, smart one

Woook3r1 votes

so when i play draven, I direct his axes to the left, right, or whatever direction i want, but unless I stop for a fraction of a second on the glyph I will then out run the glyph before the axes fall. They dont fall smart.

They fall at a fixed distance which isnt even well tuned. Its not possible to catch them on the run because of the way they fall.

So..... you never found out that they're actually designed so that if you have w active you'll automatically pick it up because the ms fall off over the duration making it perfect to pick up axes.

Please stop making a mockery of Draven.

Woook3r1 votes

....falling smarter would mean that they do what you are saying AS WELL AS falling so that I dont have to waste my fucking mana to smoothly catch an axe.

...and what if i want to wait until right before the axe lands to hit w and then hit it again soon after. This way, I can hit w twice in a row without catching an axe. Currently, doing so requires you to stand stock still for a fraction of a second. How is it a bad idea to make this technique more fluid by allowing him to catch on the run?

Really.... you replied to this?

How about leaving a reply to the other post I left you, that explained how stats affect Draven as well as general principles for bottom lane?

You're a far way off from talking about mechanics and skill interaction at this point.

theres nothing in your post that I dont already know and think about. Sure, Im not that good. Im not really going to argue about that, but I will say that I constantly outfarm my enemy by the time of my first back in 80% of my games or more. I use my attack speed runes to take advantage of the fact that I can back for a BF sword before my opponent.

Im not a dominant force in my lane before I get that item and I dont want to risk going in solo for a kill before I get my dmg. My support and the enemy support are too dominant so I dont want to hear any shit from you about a time when I might have lost lanes due to deaths and I dont want to hear shit about my runes. I think you should try those runes out before you knock them. The bloodlust might be useful. Ill grant you that. Dont give me shit tho. Im a damn good adc for bronze.

Draven is a middle of the pack adc. That much is clear to everyone. Hes also the most difficult adc. Clear on that as well. He is also one of the more vulnerable. Hes pretty far on the extreme as far as all of those factors is concerned. But he doesnt return on any of that. Any time I say something that would make draven easier to play, I get flamed regardless of if it makes him stronger. But theres never any justification as to why he HAS to be difficult to play. So you answer me. Why should he be so difficult to play? Is he really more rewarding than lucian, jinx, or ezreal?

Asside from zed, draven has the single best AD scaling in the game which he gets passively. The whole point of making his axes slightly hard to catch is because the payoff for catching them and playing him properly is insanely huge.

He can single handedly HYPER carry games, which alot of ADCS need a reliable team to pull off, draven can pull this off by literally 1 shotting other players with a simple auto attack.

Hes fine, he doesnt need fixing, your gameplay does

Ezreal has 100 scaling. so does kalista...

He doesnt have huge payoff. thats the point. He doesnt one shot anyone. His crits do about 1.1k max where other adc's can get about .9 k. Its not a huge difference.
