What runes do you take on this monkey, I like the champion but his first clear has always kept me from playing him. I usually run AD/Armor/Scaling MR/AS then go E -> Q but by my 2nd camp im either dead or a sliver away to the point i cant even do my 3rd camp lol

What am i doing wrong, I've never felt so brain dead with a champion before, i could clear with eve/kha'zix when others said theirs was shit, but ive never been able to figure wukong's first clear out. Whats the key bruthas?

Also, i'ma guess starting Red side is a big help? Thanks.

Try takeing W second over Q.

at level two his Q's CD is long enough you might get it off twice, but it fights his E's AS steroid in general because of the longer AA CD, so it doesn't actually help all that much. If you set your W off at the right time you can dodge 2-3 hits from blue or red buff, which can make all the difference on a first clear.

other than that, yeah, red side is a better start, krugs stun and/or red buff's heal is better than blue's mana or gromps poison

Ahh, okay so i think W 2nd is a good place for me to start practicing his first clear. Do you run Flat AD, or do you like some AS as well?

You're assuming he's getting a leash. What he is describing is a typical Krugs -> Red Start in a custom / leashless game. Which is very easy to die on unless you start 3 pot. Blue Start with refillable on a leashless clear typically leaves you with around 1/4 to 1/2 hp. Though going Krugs -> Raptor -> Red can help on that route leashless it's harder imo.

Edit: Leashless red start also tends to go oom on blue buff.

AD / Armor / Flat MR / AD quints

12 / 18 / 0 Masteries

Go all the way down the left side of the ferocity tree for the 12 points Then grab these in cunning: --- Savagery, Runic Affinity, Merciless, Dangerous Game, Precision, Thunderlord's

Start E -> W -> Q then Max in this order R > E > Q > W

Your Q is an auto reset so always try to auto -> q .

Start item 1039 item 2031
Easier start: item 1039 item 2003 (Safer, Puts you behind some gold for the refillable later) Build into item 1400 item 1412 or item 1401 item 1413 (Carry or Tank / Engage choose red or blue smite according to preference) Core Item: item 3071 Carry Items: item 3074 item 3142

If you go cinder hulk go full tank after black cleaver.

Boots(Pick one depending on what you need): item 3009 item 3111 item 3047 item 3158

Clearing out small minions first sometimes saves you health on the first clear. (Raptors, Wolves, Krugs)

I find blue start to be easier on Wukong (Start + Smite Gromp, Make sure you have smite on red)

Skuttle crabs are your friend they give you free health + speed + vision.(Beware of enemy duelist / sustain junglers if your low)

Edit: Forgot to say upgrade to item 2032

So u kite with your W clone?

Not kite just pop it to grab aggro from the mobs for a few hits.

My advice? Don't. Damage items cost way too much for damage champions who don't rely on damage scalings to be good there. Wukong is one of these champions. First they destroyed Warrior for a lot of ADs (except Lee Sin, of COURSE)

Starting Items: Hunter's Machete, 3 Health Potions or Refillable Potion Runes: AD Marks, Atk Spd Quints, Armor Seals, MR Glyphs Ability Order: EWQE, R>E>Q>W Camp Order: Krugs (Smite), Raptors, Red Buff (Smite)

  1. Use E immediately after a basic attack when clearing (since you have a small delay between autoattacks).
  2. Kill the small raptors first to reduce the damage you take on that camp
  3. Try to use your W when the monsters are about to attack so that it can absorb 2 hits.
  4. Kill Scuttle Crab if you desperately need the health.

Back after you clear one side of the jungle to purchase either Hunter's Talisman or Hunter's Potion.

After this, you should be fine clearing.
