I completely disagree Galactic.
"That still does not make quitting acceptable. Recognizing defeat while still playing is the only acceptable option. "
This is your OPINION and is not a rule/law inherent to LOL. Further more it is an extremists opinion which I'm willing to bet has no rational or reasonable defense. The "no quitting" culture is common to American culture and is often misguided and misunderstood. Tell me, why shouldn't you surrender when you are beaten and you know it?
Gonna stop you right there. No surrender? Not once ever did I say don't surrender or imply don't surrender. Surrender is in this game to do just that. Games like his should have been surrendered, but they didn't. That's what this is about. When your team doesn't surrender you do not give up and afk. That "extremist attitude" only applies when your team did not surrender. This game is not about you or any one person. It's about a group of people. Surrendering is a democratic process which, if it fails even when you should surrender, means you keep playing unless the game ends beforehand.
My post not only condemned toxic behavior I did the opposite of that. You share a mentality my roommate has which is "if it's broke fuck it and buy a new one". When things are going really poorly you can quit/afk/dc/rage/feed/whatever negative behavior. THAT breeds toxicity. My post if you read and understand the* WHOLE THING says to at LEAST start giving your teammates pointers. You don't even have to do that, you could focus on simply pinging and warding. You could farm your jungle preventing the enemy from taking your buffs and getting your gold. You could defend your base there's better options than quittingWHEN YOUR TEAM DOESN'T WANT TO*.
The reason/justification is your team hasn't quit. Your ***team ***hasn't given up. Your team is still playing. You opted into a team so regardless of how poorly things are going for the team you're with them till the game ends. That's what I'm an extremist on. Loyalty, even if it's to complete strangers in a fun setting, is a principle almost every culture agrees on. Especially when you chose to join that team in the first place not like you were forced into it.
