How would you "fix" Ekko?

Thought i'd put this up and see if we can get a single post with all of people's ideas on how to "fix" the new champion.

For me i think some minor things could be done to make him a little less of a pain in the butt to play against.

  1. fix the fact that if you lose vision of him, you lose vision of his entire ghost trail. I'm fine with not being able to see it through terrain, but i'd still like to see the trail leading up to where i lost vision. Would also be nice to be able to see the trail if you have vision of here he was within the last 4 seconds. "is Ekko hiding in that bush? or did he just pass through in the last 4 seconds? Man it would be great not to blindly walk into his ult path because i didn't know it existed."

  2. Let's lower his ratios a bit. Mostly i'm looking at his ultimate and his passive. Sure i get the idea of why his ultimate has such a high ratio, 4 second "delay" with visible trail. That said, the ability does reasonable base damage, so i think having a 130% ratio on it just makes it a little to good in the late game where a mage can reasonably have 600-800 AP. Maybe lower it to something around the same level as similar champions, so 90% ratio, still a lot of damage but a small decrease so it's not "wreck the whole team" levels of strong.

  3. On this same note, i'd like to see his passive get a serious nerf. 15+ (12 x lvl) is not amazing bonus damage but at the same time it's not tiny. I'm even fine with something like a 30-40% ratio on it, but a 70% ratio means that this ability can easy be doing 500-800 damage, as compared to something around 350-400 at the suggested lower ratio (this does not even account for the bonus damage lich bane can do).

  4. I'd like to see a little more warning on his W. A 3 second delay sounds fair until you notice that the enemy only gets about .5-1 second of knowing where it is, to react to it. Given the range this ability has, the possible AOE effect it possesses, and the length of the stun, i personally would very much like to see this ability give "fair warning" for players to be able to play around it. As a worst case fix to this, perhaps change it so Ekko has to be in the bubble from the start to trigger the stun.

No need for a "fix", he isn't broken.

This is absolutely excessive. They don't just release champions into the live servers. They clearly want his damage to be high, which it should be, as an assassin. His passive is literally his only problem, besides his ult scaling (even though the radius for it is VERY small and his ult animation is quite avoidable!!!), besides lich bane being problematic in conjunction with his E (hello, Fizz...).

There are much more problematic champions who have been around for years. Riot will nerf Ekko. However, it will not be anywhere as bad as people want it to be, because that would simply ruin the champion.

The only thing Ekko needs to be brought down is to nerf his passive damage and his Q.

His passive damage just needs a numbers nerf. His Q needs to do less damage the more minions it goes through.

Right now, his passive damage is easy free damage that Ekko doesn't need to work for. His Q is possibly the best waveclear in the game right now. Take out these easy rewards and focus him more on the high-risk, high-reward play of his W and ult.

The only safe way for ekko to proc his passive is to land both parts of his q which is almost impossible if people side step it even if they took the first half of the q to the face. You don't even need to be mobile. The q is impossible to hit twice if they're not stunned if the opponent even remotely knows how Ekko works. His W requires a phonecall to Miss Cleo if you ever hope to land it, and it doesn't last as long. If you nerf his passive he doesn't have assassination potential at all anymore.

After playing against ekko and playing a lot as ekko as people have started to learn to play against him, he's far from OP even if day 1 was really fun before people figured him out from both sides.

The only thing that he has going for him really is that he's hard to catch and he has better team fight than most assassins, but he's far from OP. I actually think that he's either fine or needs a buff. But even LB and Zed can do the get in get out thing more reliably than Ekko.

I disagree above the waveclear point.

Until you get several items, it isnt very useful, and you are going to burn you mana very fast waveclearing with it. Any fighter with Rh has better waveclear with auto attacks alone.

Nerf his damage (preferably base damage in particular) across the board and he'd be all set. Nothing about his kit is toxic, he is just numerically overtuned.

Lower base ad, lower base damage of passive to 15 + 10 per level with a .6 ratio.

Easy fix.

The only things he needs is a reduction in late game sheild power (because it can get crazy huge) And a reduction to the damage his E can do to towers, because it is stupid large.

Otherwise he's fine
