So I like Aurelion Sol

Let's not try to fuck him up with unneeded buffs or nerfs, okay Riot? Since you have a habit of doing that, which you probably will anyway.

Really, the attention that I think he needs is on his Q since the hitbox and the time to recast it is wonky.

I played against an Aurelion support today and my god was he oppressive in lane...

Very glad to see the utility being reduced from his kit. The zoning presence + damage of his passive on top of all that utility seemed way too strong. It seemed pretty difficult to dodge his Qs in lane if you let him walk close enough to you before he cast it (and you need to cs as an ADC so...).

Of course, naturally we'll learn to play better against him, but also realize it typically takes longer to get good on a champion than it takes to get good against one.

How is he oppressive in lane as support when his counter are champions with CC and range?

Caitlyn + Soraka would be the oppressor in that lane easily since the silence does cause Aurelion's orbiting stars to withdraw while Cait has the range and the utility to keep a distance away from his Q.

Thresh can also just as easily keep Aurelion on lock down along with Leona and especially Blitzcrank and even Janna if you can position well and time her tornado.

There are many ways to not get hit or be zoned out by him and with the utility ADCs have and the means of CC/Pealing that supports have, Aurelion should not be zoning you, let alone actually getting you caught.

Why are you assuming it was Cait + Soraka?...

I had a Thresh, and every time he missed his hook, Aurelion freely zoned us. Sure, Thresh could theoretically walk up and flay him, but if Thresh starts walking towards him Aurelion would just kite back and deal damage with his passive (or just use his Q on thresh...).

I myself was Jinx. I got some good poke on Aurelion early, but once he started using his Q as I started my rocket attack animation it made it difficult to dodge his Q unless I canceled my autos.

I've played top laners and mid laners against him and had no troubles whatsoever. Hell, even a Quinn vault retracts his stars! I had trouble bot lane though. I think largely because Aurelion looks consistent whereas most supports only have windows of opportunity surrounded by time of weakness (also ADCs are really weak early game).

For a champ that was just released his win rate is already at a solid 50%. Usually this points to the champ being a little stronger then normal.

I thinks that's because he,s harder to learn to play against then as. His kit is pretty straightforward to learn to use, easy.

Playing against though requires constant attention to zone control and just isn't as natural.

Wow, that sounds stupid.

Betting they'll nerf item 3116 next just cause it will cover the slow. As for the stun time...lol really, why was that necessary?

IMO Aurelion sol is situational. Against mobile champions he can't do anything, against immobile champions he is strong.

so ..... you're asking for a nerf/buff to his q?
