This is a HUGE NERF to urgot. Early and mid game shield was significantly reduced. It won't be viable anymore maxing W second (now on live it's way more effective maxing W second than maxing E), while the shield gain in lategame, at lvl 18 and with a full build (fully stacked tear+mana item) is a rough 20-30 useless points (compared to previous PBE update)

20-30 points.

Even a minion's fart could do more than 30 dmg lategame.

They felt they had to nerf his base shield to make up for the 3% increase?

The fuck riot how dumb can you be? That 60 you took off his base means urgot has to reach 2000 mana until he can make that 60 back from the 3% increase. Just keep his damn base the same, you don't have to lower shit about urgot.

Are you implying that is hard or unrealistic for Urgot?

I'm implying that it won't be a good idea to max W second then, and his early+midgame will be nerfed(not compared to life but compared to the previous pbe buff of course), as you need fullystacked tear+another manaitem+lvl 18

It wasn't a good idea to max W second in the first place.

Also 2k mana is easy as fuck since he always get Murumana and you'll get Heart or Gauntlet if you're any good at him.

his E is worse to max second, W is far more useful

lol

his E is far more useful for your team and his W shield is actually rather small so it's not really worth maxing outside of the slow

actually, the best order in many situations is R-E-W-Q, q mostly gets the damage from the ad-ratio. unless you play vs idiots, you rarly will hit more than 2, maybe 3 Qs per E, in which case the lvling the E gives the same damage+more armorpen+lower cd. W gives alot more tankiness, and the stronger slow makes sure you can follow up with 3-4 Qs on your E while also helping at kiteing or greating picks. Urgot isn't a squishy adc, he'S more a ranged bruiser, if you are afraid to go in you will loose, and for going in, the extra tankiness from a maxed shield helps alot more than a bit more damage on Q.

I'm going to do some very simple DPS comparisons between maxing his Q vs. maxing his E, because maxing his Q is definitely what you should do first.

Secondly, the spammability of his Q on its own makes it much easier to land than his E.

We are going to assume that it is a 22 second time period so that he can land two of his max-rank Es while only being able to land one of his minimum rank Es.

Over that 22 second period, assuming everything is landed perfectly, you will deal 590 total damage from the Es and 110 total damage from the Qs for base damage.

If you were to do the same exact comparison with one rank one E and the same 11 Qs but at rank 5, the damage looks like this: 75 from the E and 1430 from the Q.

While you might be able to cast E more often to potentially end up landing more Qs, you will lose a larger amount of DPS if you miss the E, which is rather slow and you are not guaranteed to land. If you'd like to assume that every non-locked Q misses while every E lands in that same period, then the damage comparison would instead be: 590 from the E and 60 from the Q (3 Qs per E) while 75 from the E and 390 from the Q (only 3 since you only get one E in the 22 second period)

While this one very weird and unrealistic case favors E max, Q max is almost always going to outdamage E max unless you are garbage at landing the Q while somehow a god at landing the E. There is no realistic situation where E max is better unless all you want a a small-range armor shred and nothing else from your champion. Furthermore, maxing W is less useful than E, so this change will never realistically be a nerf since you will have the mana before it adds up to anything bad.

if you play vs a afk, just standing around, maxing Q will grant more dps. Vs somewhat skilled enemys, you will rarly be able to land a Q without landing E befor, as it can be blocked by tanks/minions, and the range isn't as high. And mid/late, more survivabillity+utillity is far more important on urgot than a bit more dps(unless u snowball and face squishys, so you can kinda kill people in one E+4xQ combo with e+q maxed)

Compared to live the numbers stated in the original post are a buff. At level 9 (the earliest you could max W) you would 54.64 additional shield from base mana alone. At level one if you start W you get 24.96 shield from base mana alone. As such it is always a buff relative to live, and that is what matters. How it compares to PBE iterations that do not go live does not matter at all.
