Everytime Vayne was buffed she became gamebreaking and was nerfed
Doesn't that mean the champ design has an issue and needs a rework?

Vayne has plot armor just like any other anime main character. People should realize this by now
I thought that's Yasuo. After all, he is THE Weeb Swordsman.
Vayne's so edgy and complex of a character that she's at least around 4 seasons in her own anime "The Night Hunter"
The Holy Trinity of Edge.

Yasuo is: the typical samurai Ezreal is: the typical anime character Vayne is: batman if he was a girl Riven is: bunny girl waifu Lee is: the traditional chinesse kung fu fighter

Vayne is: batman if he was a girl
So.... Batgirl?
how is vayne batman? If anything it's Caitlyn with her infinite wealth she uses to make gadgets and fight crime as self-appointed sheriff
I believe her lore was actually inspired by batman, i think a Rioter stated it on a post on the boards at some point.
Vayne reminds me more of Selena from Underworld with voice of Eva Green
Nerf armor
funny
im a caitlyn main.. There are games where i take vayne to 0-5... Ill be 5-0 and still get eaten by her i understand her expertise is 1v1 blah and range but.. Theres a limit to how stupid your champ can be when behind
i agree even though caitlyn is also stupid

Cait is stupid i agree but vayne shouldnt be killing another 5-0 stupid champ when shes 0-5
Depends on CS too. If Vayne is up 70-100 CS and Cait tries to 1v1 her, Vayne should win. Cait is a lane bully and a teamfighter, she lacks the 1v1 power because she can't reset her headshot with insta traps. Vayne on the other hand can go invis and tumbleshot (similar to headshot) Cait freely.

Of course cs matters. But if you're 5-0 against a 0-5 vayne odds are you have a cs lead
There are times where ive been 0-4 but still outcsed the enemy adc, but for the most part you shouldnt be behind in cs when you've taken your lane opponent out of lane so much.

Tell that to Yasuo. Been times when he is 0/8 and still manages to 1v1 my jungler with ease.

Yeah its because the Draven effect.
If yasuo gets a kill, He snowballs harder than a normal champion because he already has free stats.
If yasuo is behind, He still is relevent because his free stats are literally a free item.
Then you add in his stupid utility + windwall + knockup and boom you have the most frustrating champ who people claim are ''not op'' when he was literally made with the intent of being overloaded
what are his free stats again?i forgot
A character with good chasing that has decent self peel, can burst squishies and is best in class at killing tanks.
What could possibly go wrong.
a vayne in ult can keep up with an hecarim... so i would say "excelent chasing"
Never gonna happen
Her, Lee Sin, Riven, etc make too much money for Riot to give them anything but small nerfs here and there
Remember when both Lee and Riven had reworked planned out and then both were reverted because of fanbase outcry? same shit would happen to vayne lmao

XD, lee sin "backlash"-ghostcrawler
Was ghostcrawler even around during that time? People wanted Ward hopping on Lee and animation cancelling on Riven. Any other changes should be fine.
you'd think Riot would learn not to buff her but of course they still do it
Dunno m8, we nerfed her Q damage 4 years ago, let's revert it to see what happens
nevermind, i just remembered she used to oneshot someone on release
and she still is.
No she removes like 90% of your hp but doesn't oneshot
I'm dying laughing Well technically the auto q auto is so quick it takes about as much time as the one school one shots, like rengar and ap master yi

I saw a vid where she one-shot with Q. Poor lux..
i saw a similar one but against lucian..... who was trying to ambush Vayne.
Same exact situation with Jayce but he was still buffed.
The problem is, Vayne isn't in a bad spot when they buff her. She's always fine, then they'll go and buff her for no reason other than "her lane bullies" and "not seeing enough play." It's a vicious cycle with Riot: buff something that isn't in need of buffs but isn't seeing enough plays.
THats a pretty terrible binary example, but oh well.
The reason shes OP every time she gets buffed is because they over do it. They buffed the SHIT out of vayne when they buffed her instead of just giving her a small buff and being fine with it.
I always wondered why they don't hit her mana costs or her cds instead of her damage numbers. she can kill someone, fine, but she has to choose when to go in more carefully
She suffers from an identity crisis right now.
Vayne's "thing" -- the thing everyone thinks about when you mention the champion -- is her Silver Bolts. % Max HP True Damage every third hit. The tankbuster passive, the ability that can't be itemized against because it's true damage that scales off the HP you try to build.
Yet she doesn't build based on her "thing". She actually builds completely opposite. Instead of stacking % HP damage and attack speed to deal a shit ton of mixed and true damage to fight tanks, she's stacking AD and Crit, not building % HP damage items, and killing squishies instead of fighting the tanks.
A proper Vayne rework needs to turn her (back) into a tankbuster champion who specializes in killing tanks that stack armor and health.
Innate -- Silver Bolts: Vayne's basic attacks and Condemns mark her target with Silver Bolts for 3 seconds, stacking up to 5 times. Attacking a new enemy cleanses the previous target of all Silver Bolts.
The fifth stack consumes all stacks of Silver Bolts to deal 6% (+0.33% per level) of the target's maximum health as true damage.
When Vayne deals true damage to an enemy, they suffer Silver Poisoning for 10 seconds afterwards.
Vayne's auto attacks and Condemns cannot critically strike. When she would critically strike, she instead applies an extra stack of Silver Bolts to the target.
Q -- Tumble: Vayne quickly rolls towards the cursor's location, causing her next basic attack to apply an extra stacks of Silver Bolts. Tumble resets Vayne's auto attack timer.
Vayne takes 15% less damage from the next damaging attack she suffers within 1 second of using Tumble. This damage reduction does not affect damage over time effects, nor will they consume the buff.
W -- Night Hunter:
Passive: Vayne gains an extra 30 movement speed when moving towards enemies afflicted with Silver Poisoning.
Active: Vayne gains 30%/35%/40%/45%/50% Attack Speed for 3 seconds.
E -- Condemn: Vayne fires a heavy bolt at the target unit, dealing 45/80/115/150/185 (+40% Total AD) physical damage and knocking them back. If the target is knocked into a wall, they take the same damage again and are stunned for 1.5 seconds. The extra damage from striking a wall is NOT considered to be a critical strike.
(On live, Condemn stun into walls is considered a crit, so crit damage multipliers affect it.)
R -- Final Hour: Vayne applies Silver Poisoning to all enemy units within 1200 range. Additionally, she gains triple benefit from her Night Hunter speed bonus and deals 1%/2%/3% of maximum health on hit for 8/10/12 seconds.
The goal of such a rework is to stop her from assassinating squishies and shift her to instead fight and shred the tanks. She would be a good pick into a tanky team and a bad pick into a high-damage squishy team.
By swapping the passive and W, Vayne gains an extra button to push and needs to know when to push it.
By making critical strikes apply an extra stack of Silver Bolts instead of dealing extra damage, and making Tumble apply a second stack as well, I have shifted Vayne away from building Infinity Edge. A proper Vayne should now build
and stack Zeal items. The changes remove her ability to burst down squishy targets in favor of helping her kill tanks.
The extra applications of the passive on crit required me to bump the number of stacks to proc up to 5.
I removed the AD bonus from her ultimate, replacing it with on-hit % max HP magic damage and putting an AS steroid on her W. This makes her more effective against tanks and less effective against squishies.
I made Night Hunter more situational, forcing Vayne to either ult, Ignite (which would require running Ignite since most Vayne players go Heal/Flash), or land three hits before being able to use her ridiculous chase speed.
By replacing her invisibility with damage reduction, Vayne now can't skirt around teamfights the same way as before, but can fight tanks straight up instead.
(On live, Condemn stun into walls is considered a crit, so crit damage multipliers affect it.)
Huh, never knew about that.
so this is what you want to see
That's how I felt about the Hecarim and Vi damage buffs in mid season 6 (and the impending Lucian buffs too).
last time ive said that, ive been downvoted.
vaynes design is unstable. shes either so bad early game that shes never relevant, or she can keep up with other ranged champions early on which causes her to powerspike way too soon way too many times, and completely take over and wreck games.
its a symptom that all marksmen share to some degree, but vayne is the most extreme.
i still think that the identity of marksmen as dps machines is misplaced, and that they shouldnt outscale other carry classes in this game. they already bring an insane amount of objective control to the game. theyre basically giving one class of champions not a single nieche, but multiple of the most important strategic roles in this game.
yes, "only" being incredibly great turret siegers, and fast at taking drakes and barons might not be as thrilling as also wrecking other champions lategame, but it is already pretty much the most powerful ability you can have.

Long, long ago before the creation of crit as we know it marksman had a clear niche that only they could provide; Objective. Control. They were the only ones capable of utilizing the attack speed itemization effectively, which made them the ONLY champion who could quickly and efficiently take objectives. However, they became mandatory because of it. And with that certainty, they gained this ridiculous god complex where they get what they want.
And ADC mains wanted one thing: DAMAGE. "I feel like i cant kill tanks very fast!" "I dont do as much damage as mages!" "I feel weak compared to assassins!". So riot gave them the holy grail: Crit chance and crit damage. Crit was fairly inaccessable originally however, and was bought sparingly along with attack speed (because at the time crit and attack speed were two SEPARATE STATS). Crit proved to be incredibly strong, so strong in fact that it caused the creation of dodge to deal with it. Dodge proved to be the greater of two evils and crit stayed. Over the years and seasons crit and marksmen itemization has simply improved by leaps and bounds. crit and attack speed being on the same items make them INCREDIBLY slot efficient and extremely powerful; allowing previously un-matched amounts of dps.
TL:DR: Marksman whined and got crit, then became THE sustained DPS in the game, and the only class above standard balance. They were the first, and continue to be the only, class that is balanced around each other and not the entirety of the game.
they also got mana regen and cdr and crit and damage in 1 item....
Well, I think its a combination of her Q buffs and the stealth changes. Invisibility has no counter-play now so you can't focus her that effectively when she ults. Also, her Q does can almost one shot squishies.
she also had a bug fixe with crit and Q her Q also works on tower now
No, she doesn't need a rework.
They just have a bad habit of overbuffing champions that only need small tweaks.
nah, it's a desing problem... their bad habit is to overload champs' kits. same problem with yas.
Any champion when strong gets nerfed wtf?
I think it mainly means that Riot is really bad at buffing Vayne. I mean, everytime they do, they don't buff what she is supposed to be (Tank Shredder) and instead buff something else.
tldr : adcs are balanced around eachother and the game is balanced around ad carries . even tho it should be the other way around as it is for other classes.
