Selling smite item late game

This idea mainly revolves on you having Magus or Warrior (why would you get rid of 25% bonus HP or the stacks on Devourer you worked for all game), and either Trailblazer or Chilling smite. Mainly because if you have Skirmisher's Saber you either really need the decreased damage for duels or can utilize the true damage well, I don't mention Poacher's because let's be honest, nobody buys that.

So, ever since season 5, I don't think I've seen a single person sell their smite item. Not one. I think I might have once when I had Trailblazer. It seems we're all too focused on "HOLY SHEIT BETTER SMITE, CAN SMITE CHAMPIONZ!?!?!?!!!111!!!1!?" Rather than "Can I use this gold better now?" I for one am definitely one of the former. I'll admit it, I usually don't even think about selling my jungle item now. Odds are though, if you have Magus or Warrior later on you can get a better item (although jungle items definitely better early, as they are gold efficient and give the better smite). Most of the time later on you wouldn't need Chilling or Blasting smite. Blasting especially since we're talking about full build. And you're playing someone like or you don't really need that slow that bad.

Instead, why not take that stale 80 AP from Magus and turn that into either more AP, or if you really want that 20% CDR, would still give the same AP and CDR, but also has the passive and the mana regen.

And Warrior, you have multiple options here as well. You could get a BF sword item like or , or if you're hell bent on the flat armor pen you could go for a and have 10 more AD, plus the CDR and armor pen that Warrior has, BONUS: Armor Shred.

Just was thinking about this. Definitely going to try it my next and games, since I usually get Warrior early on both, but on Kha'Zix I could a little more AD and on Hecarim I could get another defensive item, or grab a or something for a little more damage. Anyways, thought I'd share so if other people like me for some reason weren't selling smite items late game they could give it a try.
