You know why the fighter rework hasn't happened yet?

Because each season, riot decides some set of items of champions who are already in a decent spot need some random overhaul because why not. Season 4 saw ADC itemization changes in the middle of the season, we had massive jungle itemization changes this season that have done nothing but break the game even though jungle itemization was fine before this. We randomly had an AP itemization overhaul when AP items were fine.

Now, could you argue that these above mentioned items could've used changes to diversify them or push them in different directions? Absolutely. But guess what? At least they fucking have items in the first place. You know who doesn't have a variety of items? Fighters. You know who's kits are the biggest fucking mess? Fighters. Gangplank rework only took 3 years. The real problem is riot just isn't prioritizing it and trust me, the fighter rework through itemization and kit changes isn't happening this pre-season because they're going to have to spend the majority of the preseason fixing the broken fucking jungle items and remove smiting champions (this was a retarded concept in the first place). What little time they'll have to do other stuff will be mostly closing up loose ends from the ap itemization overhaul.

It's just frustrating as a fighter player how our class continues to go ignored and it only ever gets buffed to broken levels because their kits are currently flawed and need changes or items intended for them just end up getting abused by other classes and nerfed because fighters aren't good enough to be played in the first place for these items to matter (don't worry Gnar will get BC nerfed).

So yep, fighter rework coming to a home near you in season 8. Season 8 the dream, I believe.
