why are people acting like zed jungle shouldn't be a thing?

It used to be really strong back when elder lizard and the item you get before completing it heal'd you for the damage dealt in the jungle. It made him sustain very well.

His only weakness in the jungle was sustain, as he has ganking potential, farming potential with both AoE and single target, so really all he was missing was sustain.

I used to play it a lot during season 3-4 and I believe it was even played once or twice in a pro match in korea or something (forget, I just remember someone mentioning it to me and asking if that's why I was doing it).

I think the problem is the number of champions exclusive to jungle that can't jungle anymore Adding non-jungle champs to the jungle is an insult to anyone that plays said jungle champs

Ngl, my problem is with Riot showing favouritism with ad champions going in multiple roles but I can't have Soraka be a toplaner. I haven't seen a Zed jungle yet so kind of excited to see how it'll go

People are whining because they think these changes will push Zed out of midlane, and they don't want to have to learn jungle to keep playing Zed.

First of all, the whole point of these changes are to encourage people to learn jungle. Now when you inevitably get autofilled, Zed mains, you can jungle on your favorite champion no problem.

Second, adding bonus damage to monsters doesn't hurt his mid viability at all. In fact, it probably helps it. Having better damage output and energy restore when fighting monsters helps you secure Rift Scuttlers, Heralds, dragons, and Baron. Before, Zed would just ignore objectives entirely because his damage output was too low to be relevant. Now when he roams bot and gets a kill, he can take dragon, too.
