Ill explain my OTP, MISTER YI!
Master Yi is a weak champ, the only way to win a game on yi is to know the champ perfectly against every match up,
How to effectively use W to either sustain and survive long enough to double aa and q, or to reset your aa and aa again instantly,
at what point ur powerspikes allow you to duel most of these champs 1v1,
and pathing and clearing of jungles while avoiding MOST JUNGLERS because early in the game u lose MOST 1V1 in the jungle!
The weakness of yi is literally any cc, u stun him, he dies, as well as nuking junglers like KZ, EKKO, or LEE SIN waiting for him in bushes. K
iting is difficult against yi if he saves his alpha properly, and lets be honest, most champs cannot outrun a CANNOT BE SLOWED 450 move speed champ.
This is the only way he can even get close to someone without using his Q, and his Q is basically his ONLY DODGE/ESCAPE skill, otherwise he has to MAN-MODE up and fight like hes in a boxing match inside a phone booth, 2 MAN ENTER 1 MAN LEAVE style.
As a master yi player since season 2, WHERE AP YI WAS A THING (God bless the old league, it was actually fun, not an endless ranked grind with a ruined match making system)

Yi's only chance of a team fight is WAIT UNTIL ALL THE CC IS BURNED (This gives me A 5 SECOND WINDOW MAXIMUM) to attack the ADC or APC or whoever i have to assassinate with R flash E AA AA Q AA W(aa reset) AA and hope he dies, or im screwed, because unless yi kills someone with his ult up, his ALPHA AINT COMING BACK UP for minimum 3-5 seconds ( guinsu and wits end really help to get this low q timer )
This means i cannot dodge ANYTHING, i am forced to accept any and all damage targeted at me, and hope i can delete the enemy before they delete me.
So you want to take away Yi's attack speed? YOU MEAN THE ONLY THING THAT ALLOWS HIM TO DUEL ANYONE??? LOLWUT?
Yi is not a strong champ unless u let him farm, or int to him, There are SO MANY OTHER CHAMPS who are WAY STRONGER, WITH MORE BUSTED KITS and ESCAPES FROM BAD SITUATIONS who can cause a game winning engage.
If a jungler is gank oriented, and barely farms, but ganks lanes and gets kills, the amount of exp leeched off laners from ganks consistently. ** will GIVE THEM THE SAME LVL/EXP AS YI WHO FARMS AND RARELY GANKS** due to newest jung changes, even if u get most the scuttles, buffs, and drakes...
( after about lvl 12-13 the buffs/scuttle exp and lvl will differ, until then you may barely ever see a difference in level even if u are up 40-80 cs )
Yi is my poker hand, HE IS EITHER ALL IN, OR ALL OUT.
He is not a kiting champ, he is not much faster than some champs even with his ULT ACTIVE and he has no dash, no double hp sheild, no invisibility, NO "OH SHIT IM OUTTA HERE" SKILL Unless you CAN save your Q to dodge a snare/stun.
(besides flash if u even take it still, Cowsep, a master yi diamond+ player in Korea, who is prolly the most known yi player, takes ignite on him, to further the I AM ALL IN OR I DIE aspect of Yi.)
Its not that Yi is a BAD CHAMP its that he has NEVER FIT INTO A META... he has never been able to work effectively in pro play, or high elo that doesnt revolve around allowing him to split push late...
He is mainly a LOW ELO stomper...
There are so many junglers who are SO MUCH HARDER BETTER FASTER STRONGER (gotta drop the daft punk)
Who can effectively control the game from going buff gank buff gank farm camp gank, gank and keeping up with yi in lvl and exp from creep/assist exp. So if yi is behind from the enemy team getting fed off ganks, he is ultimately useless in the 1v1 split or teamfight, ( if i am ahead as yi, I SPLIT, if i am behind, i try to teamfight and attempt to assist the team without getting deleted)
