Riot Prefers AD Champions - Example 1

Compare late game, complete build Ziggs ultimate with Gangplank ultimate. Ziggs ultimate has;

  • A higher cooldown
  • Does less damage at full build (Even one or two of the shots from Gangplank's ult does more damage both individually and collectively then Ziggs)
  • Cannot be upgraded 3 times with 3 different effects that help improve it (One of which gives Gangplank's ult a useful support effect)
  • Last as long as Gangplanks ult
  • Has no slow, unlike Gangplank's ult to keep people in it

Remind me why anyone would pick Ziggs again? This is just ONE example of Riot's preference towards AD champions and how they put MUCH MORE effort into AD champions reworked kits. However I think its a pretty solid example.

Oh and Ziggs cannot build item 3156 to nullify magic damage harshly while not losing any of their own damage.

So thats how u present arguments? Lemme try

Riot prefers AP over AD champions

Compare late game, complete build Kennen JarvanIV ultimates

-Higher damage -Better AOE -Has CC thanks to his passive -Has slow if built Rylais -Lasts longer than Jarvans ultimate

Or compare Brand and Aatrox ultimates

-Better AOE -Higher damage -Can win teamfights by itself -Better range -Better interaction with other abilities

Ziggs ultimate has a lower cool down, excuse you... by a lot.

GP Cool Down: 180/160/140 Ziggs Cool Down: 120/105/90

Also, Ziggs ultimate deals more instant damage and his actually scales with the stat he builds. I am having serious doubts about the Damage comparison too. Ziggs ultimate deals 600 (+110% AP) magic damage. What kind of crap comparison is this? Also, Ziggs can kill towers in one minion wave late game and can wave clear from a VERY long range. Ziggs is 100% better at taking towers than GP and has infinitely better poke.

EDIT: Yeah, I checked and, unless you stand in the GP ult for he full duration AND Ziggs has hardly built any AP, Ziggs ultimate does more damage.

Ziggs: 300/450/600 (+110% AP) Gangplank: 105/180/255 (+30% AP) per cluster

What builds are you using to make this argument?

Because one example comparing two different champions is enough to prove that, right?

How about this; AP champions have higher utility than AD champions. Almost every mage has some form of hard CC/root, a lot of them being AoE, while only a few AD champs have a good amount of utility. A lot of mages have CC on par with some tanks, including but not limited to Anivia Lissandra Orianna . I'd continue to argue that pretty much every support and almost every tank does primarily magic damage, but you seem to be more focused on mages, so I'll leave it there.

Ziggs is the worst case for comparison here since he's the one mage that has a very clear niche and HIGH amounts of damage both consistent and burst, he also has mobility and his telegraphed skills makes Zhonyas way more effective than in any other mage, plus he's one of the few mages (alongside Orianna) who has 5 damaging skills and with a lich bane, that 5th skill, his passive, hits like a truck.

Compare Ziggs' passive with Cass' and well... if anything Riot loves Ziggs
