To damage supp with most dmg on team: "U don't know the role of supp xD"

Anyone that says this to a damage support that does well is donating brain cells and sensory organs somewhere, because it makes no sense at all.

A supports role is to ward and facilitate damage. If I choose a damage support, I will deal that damage. I'm not buffing you Lulu and keeping you alive Soraka like an enchanter. I'm not making an engage Rakan, disengage Alistar or counter engage Braum that allows for you to get in range and dps while enemies are cc'd. It's me that will deal that bonus damage

So ofc when I show my damage numbers at the end it's like "this is what I contributed" and if you see that and think "well you're a support it means nothing" then you just don't understand the role. You want a Vel'Koz to buy ardent censer and take font of life or something? That's the vibe I get from these morons

You think I'm going to win with 0 kills as Luden's Lux bc I get the item at 18min? I'd like to see the % w/r of Lux supp based on the time she has frostfang, sorc shoes and ludens complete. It'd probably be <40% at >18min though

Just remind them that one of the primary jobs of a support is to cc threats, and that death is the best cc. Unaffected by tenacity, near infinite time scaling, and a bigger knock back towards their base than poppy ult.

It's not just that, dealing damage can put enemies in kill range for team mates. Your cc deals damage so more dmg means you hit your spells and were useful

Also in lower elo's midlaners, and other laners don't cs as well, so you're relatively stronger in low elo as a mage support (as you're more like a behind mid than a support mage in that elo)

If the support ends up doing the most damage on the team then they were right to not support that team in the first place if they wanted to win.

When they downvote you cause they're salty about the truth.

Mage support, sure, you should have some damage. But If I can outdamage you as an enchanter or tank support, you should probably realize that instead of flaming people, you should focus on doing your job.

All of the afk-shield supports that get boosted are enraged at this post.

I main enchanters, and even I laughed at this.

My 2 roles are both halves of bot lane. I honestly prefer support, cause adc feels binary to me, but when I get adc, this exact thing is exactly why I prefer other people don't play enchanters with me. Don't get me wrong, a good enchanter is invaluable, but around my elo, literally every enchanter just sort of stands at tower and occasionally spams shields, or goes full-out aggressive into everything and ints. There's not really an in-between...though between the two, I like the inters better in that case, cause if I follow them up, I can usually trade a kill. afk shield/heal supports are boring af.

I play a lot of Nami, Janna and Lulu - if you're not poking the enemy whenever possible (note - poking is not "LEEROY JENKINS!") then you're doing it wrong. >.>

As a fellow Nami player, one of my favorite experiences is still:

  1. poking and trading like a madman
  2. my adc sits behind quietly cs´ing
  3. I am basically fighting 2v1, but it´s ok for me seeing how much pressure I managed to put up and how much cs the enemy adc has missed.
  4. Tabbing to see how big our advantage is
  5. realizing that my adc is 20cs behind.....somehow....while being left alone and having all the time in the world
  6. wishing that I would have picked dmg instead

Yeah...coinflip simulator for the adc is a thing. That's why I said, adc feels binary. Whoever manages to right click the enemy champions more tends to win even lanes, and if you get counterpicked as adc, you're pretty much doomed to sit under tower and just not feed until your support or jungler gets a really good hit and you feel good about calling all-in.

I am convinced most players would prefer a less effective support who babies them through the game over a dmg-dealing support. Doesn´t matter if you chunk down an entire enemy team as a support, if it means that your adc can´t do it and be the center of attention.

Those sweet sweet shields, heals, ms- and as-boosts etc, that make you look better than you actually are, are just too enticing, I guess.
