@RIOT Suggestive changes to Elise to make her more compatible with her new subclass Fighter/Diver

In the current class description she is a Mage/Bruiser. She is for the most part built like a bruiser but doesn't tend to do well when going more ap for her mage counterpart. With the updated subclasses she is changed to Fighter/Diver. Fits her play style and build path very well but missing something the other divers have. Which is base defensive stats, she lacks those stats because her human form is ranged. Therefore, I suggest we should get rid of her range in human form.

Changes - More Health, MR per level, Human form Ranged to Melee, Spiderform Melee range increased.

(Old) Elise HEALTH 529(+80 per level) – 1889 <- ATTACK DAMAGE 51 – 102 HEALTH REGEN. 5.7 – 15.9 ATTACK SPEED [*] 0.625 (+0% – 29.8%) MANA 324 – 1174 ARMOR 22.1 – 79.1 MANA REGEN. 6.0 – 19.6 MAGIC RES. 30.0 <- RANGED 550 <- MOV. SPEED 325

(New) Elise HEALTH 529(+90 per level) - 2149 <- ATTACK DAMAGE 51 – 102 HEALTH REGEN. 5.7 – 15.9 ATTACK SPEED [*] 0.625 (+0% – 29.8%) MANA 324 – 1174 ARMOR 22.1 – 79.1 MANA REGEN. 6.0 – 19.6 MAGIC RES. 30.0(+1.25 per level) - 52.5 <- MELEE 125 <- MOV. SPEED 325

(Spiderform) Elise - Melee ~~ 125~~ -> 175

They are trying to make Elise a tankier Jungler from the start from what I am seeing.

The only change I see right here is the +10 health per lvl, so Elise can do her own thing

God no.

  1. Every classic transform champion has a ranged and melee form. What's the point of being a transform champion if you're not changing your range?
  2. Human Form Elise is a mage regardless of auto attack range because all of her abiliites are magical, ranged abilities. Why would a mage randomly have melee auto-attacks? People hate Galio partly because he breaks that rule.
  3. Melee auto attacks on Human Form make no sense because you're just randomly making it so that she never auto attacks anyone in Human Form ever again. She has no tools to get in her auto range and no reason to try to because she scales with AP and only has on-hits in Spider Form. Human Form is designed around working at a distance.
  4. Terrible lore fit - Human Form Elise is supposed to be about keeping people at a distance and luring them in, THEN suddenly transforming into a kill threat. It makes no sense for her to be in people's faces, punching them.

If you want her to be tankier then just give her back her Spider Form tank stats or give her a general mild tankiness increase like a slight HP per level boost. If you want a more extreme solution then just remove the ranged form altogether and change spider form to be functional without ranged setup. Making her human form ranged is just a horrible idea on so many angles though.

  1. Yeah every classic transform champion is ranged and melee ( nidalee and jayce.) This change will make her more unique. She is a much weaker and less mobile Nidalee at this point. Only thing she has over nidalee is a stun.

  2. There are other melee mages besides galio you know... (fizz, diana, Eve, kassidan, amumu, gragas, yorick, rumble, katarina, and cho gath)

  3. Her human form is her weaker half, its used to weaken and catch enemies and changed into her spiderform to finish them off. Having a melee attack in her human form wont change that because her spells are still ranged.

  4. She keeps people at a distant with her QWE in human form already. (FYI her gameplay doesn't lure people in, it makes them back off. So it doesn't "fit with the lore" already.) By making her melee in human form, she is vulnerable which actually does lure people in because it gives them a chance to attack her ( Which does fit with the lore base on your reasoning.)

She doesn't need defenses to be a diver. She's basically the only diver with a CC ability that deals no damage (no tower aggro), and that also has a tower diverting skill when she becomes untargetable. She could maybe use defenses for the Fighter part of her kit, but the diver is quite adequate as is.

Also, moreso than the other two transformers, I'd say Elise is a fully capable dual-range skirmisher. Nida is more of a high-range lock-on, low-range assassin, prefering the poke gamestyle at a range, and Jayce is a high-range DPS, low-range DPS/manipulation, also relying on range to harass enemies down. While Elise is similar, she also uses her threat from a (lesser) range to set up stuns on many enemies, enabling her to deal her full damage while melee. When played right, I'd say Elise needs both her forms moreso than the other two, though none of them are actually that reliable without both ranges present.
