Honest question : How do you even itemize against on-hit builds ?
They literally deal all type of damage : AP / AD / %hp and also reduces your MR
Armor is useless, MR is useless and even with 4k hp you die in a 2 sec

Thornmail will be less efficient with its return damage because it deals magic damage, and since Wit's End steals, not reduces your MR, you´ll effectively be dealing less damage while taking more.
Any hard resists. All hybrid builds have 0 pen (Kayle's passive sucks).
Well its build based on attack speed. So reducing their attack speed helps mitigate a lot of damage. Frozen Heart and Omen help.
Randuins? Why armor and magic def are useless?
Moreover it s a aingle target build. The time,spent on you is not spent on teammates
